Can't say enough about the Ducati boys at this point, they did their homework in the winter and it is paying dividents now. Congrats to Loris and what a shame for Gibbers, he should be strong all season.

Repsol Honda is back. What a ride from Dani, I knew he would be a front runner but I didn't see him running second for the entire race, I really expected him to fall off with seven to go. Hats off to him for a good ride. Nicky, he really couldn't have been happier with his result. Like he said in the post race press conference two weeks ago he didn't have a chance and to finish on the podium is a big step. He always seems to make monumental discoveries on Monday tests so maybe he will find more in the '06 211V tomorrow.

What did I tell you guys about Elias? I didn't have to tell Teo but I told the rest of you, Marco Melandri of 2005 waiting to happen. Had he not nudged Rossi or if he had one more lap he would have gotten by Hayden for a podium, great ride. MM... what's the deal mate?

I can't say enough about Casey Stoner either, I know I've said that about everyone so far but for Casey to start 15th with so little time on the bike and to end up 6th was tremendous, eager to see him at the Isle.

Bummer for Kawasaki, I really thought de Puniet had a top 10 in him and sorry to be a downer but I didn't think Nakano had a top 5 in him either, on to the next race and hope for better results for Team Green.

KRJR had a solid ride, I think Senior was right when he said this is a race winning package. With some more time developing a chassis to embrace the 211V powerplant the package could achieve its full potential at the hands of a former World Champion.

Yamaha... oops? Very bad luck for Rossi and Edwards but looking at Edwards' times I'm not so sure Valentino would have had anything for Capirossi even if the pace was 15 seconds slower than last year. Tech 3 was a bit of a disappointment as well, really thought JE, Checa and Dunlop would have been more impressive in their debut. Hopefully things improve for the tuning fork company come Qatar.

Sorry for the novel.

so after working a 12 hour shift, i get home and watch the battle of Jerz.. first off, Dani, what a true star he will be! awesome, ride of the day for me! and Rossi, shows he's determined as .... still! really dissapointed with Ellison, i recored the BBCi Extra thing.. hmm.. lame ass excuses for me! but jesus, what a sweet race! so glad its back!! roll on 2 weeks so it can be Rossi & Dani fighting for top 2!!

I thought Loris would be the one that binned it, he looked so wild and out control on that bike, but it seems it was controlled madness. Great GP for Loris (Pole+FL+Win)

Elias surprised me, I rate him highly but I know one of his problems is that he is a slow learner, he needs more time than the others to get everything in it's place in terms of settings, thats why he always goes better at the end of the season than at the beggining, but he was the fastest Honda out there today ... makes me wonder what he will be able to do by mid season.

Pedrosa and Casey are going to kick some veteran ass this year, the oldies should watch out cause once they get settled these guys are lighting fast (it will be even more fun when Lorenzo joins the group next year).
<

I'm a bit sad for Kawasaki, they looked so fast in the tests ... but now Honda is back up there again.
<

IMO your view on KRJR is biased as much as mine on the Spanish riders, I think that chassis is crap and the only way Kenny is going to be up there is if rains. I think King Kenny's engineers work for Kenny because they are not good enough to work for Honda. I don't have much faith in Jr anyway, even if he had a Honda I wouldn't bet on him finishing on the podium on a dry race.

Yamaha didn't work here, but in places like Montmeló or Malaysia, I would bet on Rossi.

Dunlop shod teams are really screwed, that tire works OK in some places but overall it sucks. They are where Bridgestone was 3 years ago.

FUKIN ELIAS, I NEEDED THOSE POINTS!!!

Well, he did very well, as did Pedrosa, what a great debut. You know he's gonna be a champion one day. MNow who was that playing down his step up to GP? Katt?
<

The day belonged to Cappers, and Bridgestone. Cappers rode a great race, And his 'stones held up better than Dani's Michelins. Had Dani's tyres had a bit more in 'em he could've kept pushing for the lead.
Bad to see HRC and Gresini back up there. 2-3-4-5-6 for Honda.
I guess.... Stoner had a good race
<
but still the only Honda he beat was Tamada
<
I think it's easy to see how Dani kept the 250 title from him last year. Yeah, Stoner's good. I'll admit that..... But Dani's better
<

Nothing but Dissapointment for my team, Yamaha flunked it with Rossi and Edwards shaken up (or off, in Rossi's case) on the first corner of the first lap, Ellison riding like he's still on a WCM. Checa's dunlops bailing out on him, I suspect. They might be good for a fast lap or two when Mladin or Checa's riding them in a test, but clearly they're not still with Bridgestone and Yamaha for race-long durability.
Hopefully Michelin will be my redeemer. And Rossi will romp in a win next race.

I aggree with everything said here. I've always believed in KRJR but teo may have a point. It could be too little too late in terms of machinery, I guess that one will depend on how good the crew really are at developing the chassis. He will get a podium when it rains I think. The Honda brigade surprised with solid rides for all the 'kids' and richo, DP will be world champoin one day, when and at whose expense is the question?

A couple of weeks ago Rossi was quoted in the british press as saying that the 2006 M1 was "now the point of reference" for a motogp bike. Well that doesn't really stack up after what we saw in Jerez even considering the first turn incident. Until Yamaha/Michelin are on the same page, Rossi and Edwards will be exactly where they don't want to be, stuck in a swarm of Hondas piloted by hungry and very talented youngsters which should make for a few monumental races.

Don't forget those two aces on factory Dukes, Skid! They won't make life easy for CYT either.

As for Kawa, well Depuniet Retired so we don't know well he'll go and Nakano got caught behind Rossi on the first lap and that cost him a lot. He was still hounding Stoner for 6th, though. Not a bad effort considering the bad luck.

You make some good points about KRJR Teo. I thought he'd do well, but I think we are being biased. Remember it's not King Kenny on the bike, it's his son.
<
But I think you'll find a few of KRSR's people have been with him since the Rainey days and are still with him out of loyalty. There's definately some talent in that garage, but 990cc race engineering is about money, not talent. Which is a real shame. And I think KRSR's starting to get a bit long in the tooth. He can't have too many years left in him. A former world champ now struggling for top ten finishes. That's gotta be hard on him
