Not sure how accurate but I’ve seen something saying that it’s a compound fracture of the right arm. They showed the replay a few times and you could see his right arm flapping about, so I wouldn’t be surprised.
Compound means open/through the skin. If it hasn’t pierced the leathers it won’t be contaminated possibly allowing early primary closure, as was the case with Valentino’s compound leg fracture in 2010.
I doubt even he wins the title in a 13 race season with such an injury. Might be better in the long term than a shoulder injury, bones heal.

Just watched it, well deserved victory for Fabio. Overshadowed by the mother of all saves and almost comeback from 93. It was sublimely spectacular. Puzzled by the second crash, camera angle doesn’t seem to give any hint.
MM should have gotten a text saying to cool down, he had a few laps to plan for MV.
Now Honda gets to learn about the all your eggs in one basket truism.
He got hit by the bike. Anything can happen then.He was already over the limit the corner before. Then attacked the left but took a line marginally too tight, touched the white line/kerb. Pure rider error.
I hope he recovers fully, competing again at this stage is secondary. The doctors seem extremely concerned in the post race interview they gave. A "strange and wierd fracture".
I don't buy this whole .... of "he can end his career, paralysis", bla bla, hell, it's just an humerus breaking, nothing special...
It was about time a .... like this would be happening to him
Your views are quite frankly disgusting, to wish such misfortune upon a rider like that. You are certainly no fan of this sport, or its riders for that matter.
I don't buy this whole .... of "he can end his career, paralysis", bla bla, hell, it's just an humerus breaking, nothing special. Who the hell have never had a broken arm bone before on incredible conditions? It's always that awkward feeling "how was it possible ??? I'll never get 100% healed, I'm lost, buaaaa" ...Tuesday surgeon will implant a plate and some screws and sooner than expected the kid will be just racing around as always. I remember both Rossi and Lorenzo racing with a broken leg in less than a month time span, it's not a big deal for these guys. I don't even doubt that he will be almost fully fit up until 1 month, you know, these high level athletes gets on steroids and HR therapies all the time to recover a lot faster.
But the title race is gone, that is for sure. Bad for Marc, good for the show either. It was about time a .... like this would be happening to him, today he has ridden like a mad on cocaine. Remind me Ayrton Senna on his glory days.
He's fast as hell, but sometimes Marc is dumb as hell too. After almost throwing away his race, making such a comeback, the last thing he needed was forcing over the limit on a battered Vinales with 5 laps remaining. Even a 3rd or a 4th place would be such an important result, and next week he could race for the win.
Whatever..as Stoner once said, ambition sometimes outweigh talent.
Thankyou for the benefit of your medical knowledge. Much appreciated [emoji106]You can buy it or not as you like, but the radial nerve can of course be damaged by trauma and runs next to the humerus for part of its course.
Hopefully it is just a neuropraxia/the nerve has taken something of a battering and will recover. Otherwise sure a humeral fracture will heal and might be better than having done further damage to his shoulder, articular cartilage in particular doesn’t heal.
