15 riders within 1 sec from the fastest lap. This look like a very tight race :)

those lap times matter little... as they're 2 secs from lap rec, and 1 sec from race rec....it means squat...... but good on KR though!....

GO HOPPER!

KRJR at the top, then Checa? WTF? Great to see Casey backing up, comfortably ahead of his senior team mate and staying near the top of the sheets.

Unless Hayden can find something (a miracle) he wont have the pace to run hard he didn't seem to gain anything in the second session. I don't rate the guy that highly, but I hope he challenges at some stage before Laguna. The pressure must be mounting especially from Honda considering he is getting outpaced by customer machines (slowest honda after FP2). I assume the press will take a dump on him shortly.

Bit of a weird mix between the old (not expected to win anything) and young talent. I hope the race is this unpredictable!!!!

Welcome to Moto GP, it's not Formula 1!

Hayden looks stronger this time round, has he fully adapted to his bike? (Guess he won't say yet just incase he falls off so he has an excuse), roll on qualifying.

Isn't it F1. ...., I'm on the wrong fourm.

The time difference isn't bad but he's still down on 13th, isn't it?
So if he's going to be a factor he still need more speed.

Time will show.

I noticed Checa in the tests and his race-pace was really good. It's not a surprice to me. He will have a solid year, but probably need som time to get used to real rubber again, especially q-rubber, not that Pirelli .....

kinda makes it seem like the honda can be riden around well by a "big" guy don't it.

Note that the times are a 1.5 secs slower that Rossi's test times (1min 38.394secs) listed at the bottom. So these times really don't mean much as the riders are just testing the their new "bits" and tires. There is a lot of room for improvement. but, who will improve the most?

1 second is a huge time difference after 25 laps (at an average speed of say 120mph) it translate into almost 1 mile -- which means that a rider who is 1 sec down on lap time will finish a mile behind the winner.

He was on Pirelli in WSB, wasn't he?

I haven't checked my self, but if you talk about the final result in the official BMW shootout, that was on q-tires and none has used those yet.
They all complained about grip and Rossi mentioned how Jerez usually are slippery in the beginning, so there might be some more to gain on race pace but not 1.5 sec unless the conditions are far better.
