<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (roger-m @ Aug 31 2008, 02:58 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>they did fight back today mate 2nd 4th 6th 8th 10th is non to shabby

Thats today, look at their seasons work to tell the true story. Its got to the point where a good day is 2-3 riders in the top 10.Now the big question is, will Bridgestone supply the whole series with tires and be called sole supplier or will Dorna call for a spec tire from Bridgestone.

Hey all, have been away but after todays developments I just had to comment.

First, the tire issue. I seem to recall quite clearly many a person on this board calling Rossi a prima dona, that he was just upset that Stoner was winning and looking for an excuse....thus the tire move. The arguement was that if Rossi blamed the tire then people would 'miss' the 'fact' that he was past his prime. Fast forward to this year, where everyone, including eurosport commentatores are repeating what Rossi was saying last year. Perhaps, after all, a 7 time world champion does know a thing or two about the buisness of racing. In anycase, if Rossi was a prima dona for wanting to change after his Michelin contract was up what is Dani with a midseason switch?

Let me just add that the runner up in this race was far more injured then Dani AND running with Michelin tires...must be the stars that didn´t line up for Dani, tire change should help with that.

Of course in the end all the teams what to win and score points and it is right that they should beable to do this through change and pressure, but it would be nice if the same rules applied to all teams and riders. This whole double standard thing is getting a little old.

As for Michelin agreeing so easily to the switch, Repsol money, i also believe, had much to do with it, however don´t you all think that they must be moving in other directions? I mean, since the Rossi change they pumped more money into racing developement with nothing to show for it....seems kinda odd to me. Almost seems like they have giving up on the two wheel market, hell they don´t even seem to be fighting, instead the atitude seems to be more of 'hey we tried'. Don´t know but seems kinda odd to me.

As for Dani, his manager and Repsol Honda....stop complaining and start showing results on the track....might want to take some leasons from Lorenzo....that kid has some serious future ahead of him, Dani not so much if mommy Repsol gets tired of him. Oh and one more thing, if Dovi does sign with the Repsol team the short boys days are numbered.

Excellent post. If Dani was half the racer that Jorge is, I'd be a hell of a lot more impressed.

Stand by for Toms post saying he always respected Vale for getting Stones, right along with his post saying he always thought that dangerous riding should be penalised.

Letters dont lie Tom, you may remember a phrase similar to that fae when you were a Hayden fan,.

I cannae wait to see the sun and moon in google boy's avatar next year, with the following quotes....

"Yeah I always said Rossi was the best," "Barbera is dangerous", "I always loved Schwantz me" and the old chestnut "I'm an engineer, I know what I'm talking about."

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (#46 @ Aug 31 2008, 02:14 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>I wonder why our conspiracy theory hasn't come up yet...

Because this news is self evident. This is exactly what HRC asked for at the end of last season. They were denied by Bridgestone and by the governing body. Yet they are being granted what they want now. Does anyone think that Honda or Yamaha were incapable of bidding Suzuki or Kawasaki or Gresini off of their contract? Obviously, Bridgestone were resolute in their refusal. The governing body had to reverse Bridgestones refusal to score equipment for big market riders and big market teams. Behind the scenes deals had to be brokered to keep Honda from taking Bridgestones from the Gresini team.

Does anyone else think it is complete garbage that Dani should benefit from Michelins early in the season and now jump to Bridgestones to benefit in the second half?

HRC were obviously pushing for this move at Brno but fell short and they settled to test the RC212V on bridgestones with Nakano. Finally, Honda have received clearance from the governing body to switch Pedro's tires. The delay was caused by the observation above.

There is a chess match going on behind the scenes. The major teams are trying to out lobby one another. You don't need me to explain that to you.

Yeah, it's all evil, lets call the Police and make it illegal for anyone not called Hayden to win. I'm with you bro, it's all wrong, Rossi doesnt even ride a bike, he gets Hayden to do it and takes the credit!

Or find a girl and stop dreaming.

Oh yes, one more thing I want to add. Has anyone noticed the trend in satellite teams recently?

Tech 3 gets near factory support. Alice now get near factory support. Kawasaki are running a third factory bike with its own techs under a different name. Honda are upgrading all of the satellite bikes to pneumatics for next season.

Let me give you a hint. They aren't doing this because they love spending money.

There are a lot of significant changes occurring in GP that are not in line with normal prototype proceedings. We see very few of the sports rules.

Its not evil this is just sport, but it is artificial and slightly scripted.
