Is there any way for Rossi to win legit?

VR 46 can win in two scenarios:

1. If it rains and stops in the middle of the race like misano mayhem, we can see 2 bike change and VR46, if used perfectly can come close to JLo.
2. Ducs and Honda in front of JLo. Highly impossible considering JLo will start bare minimum in row 2 will attack the 1st corner like his life depends on it...

Rossi can still with the championship legitimately as, after all, he as accrued the most points thus far across the given season - like it or not, consistency rules.

He only needs to race Lorenzo in this race and that is all he will do, where Lorenzo needs to race the field

El arrab.
Your pants were too tight to not give it away at donny. I was thoroughly impressed

Seeing as all the sane (and I use that word loosely) people here have already decided that The Great Shaitan cannot legitimately win the WC - has anyone considered under what circumstances they might change their mind? This question is not posed to lunatic Boppers who already have decided that Rossi should win every race from here til eternity - but rather all of us who have pre-ordered our Lorenzo 2015 championship T-shirts.

I'll start.

Like... what if Lorenzo gets hit by lightning at the track?

What if Lorenzo gets the sniffles and can't race?

What if Lorenzo's bike runs out of gas two laps before the flag?

What if Lorenzo gets secretly married to Johnny Depp and elopes on race day?

Or what if HRC & Repsol wants Lorenzo to win?? Can you imagine both Dani & Marc pit board with that message??

well, as far as the question goes, if rossi wins the championship, its legit.

what bothers me the most is his insecurity, he is making all these shabang cuz he think he cant win and he think some significant other rider is gonna help lorenzo, somebody have to remind him that bro; not everything is about you, i bet MM is under immense pressure by his team and employers right now that he has to finish in front of lorenzo,...

No... not really. It's all the same to HRC. Yamaha have won the championship either way.

Constructor's title matters more to the factories.

Rider winning the rider's title is good, but beating the other manufacturers is even better.

Interesting; I'll bite. Why do you say that? Genuinely curious.

Even for me, the legitimacy of him winning the title would only come into question if it depended on the 3 points he may have gained by taking out MM at Sepang.

He of course has made a Lorenzo title possibly suspect for some from the time of his paranoid and unprovable allegations at the Thursday press conference prior to the events of Sepang, but because he is Valentino that is apparently OK, despite calls for sportsmanship from his fans in contexts which suit them.

To me not. He should have been blackflagged. Only if he wins the championship with more than 7+18 points advantage on Lorenzo, he could win it legit. So Rossi has to win it and Lorenzo gain 2, 1 or 0 points. So I guess Rossi practically can't win it legit. RD helped him too much for that.

They are there to prove they have the best machines in the world. Yes it's a marketing exercise as well as it gives visibility. The rider or driver's championship is a way to keep the fans interested...if you only conducted a constructor's championship, it would be difficult to attract fan interest...need a face to go with the entire thing. At its basest, I've always thought that the individual championship is somewhat frivolous because it's greatly dependent on having the right machine in hand. No one has won a title without having a great machine in hand. I don't know enough of MotoGP history to know if there's ever been years where the rider winning might not have had hands-down the best machine on the grid. F1 has had a couple of years like this, but it's been a very long time since that has happened.

Technology has advanced too much to allow the riders to win on lesser machinery. If you took all rider aids and sensors off these bikes it would be very interesting to see who's truly a master of their craft!!!

What highlighted it for me was when Pedrosa came off in Aragon when Murder Marc snagged his rear wheel sensor wire. The bike spun up instantly when Pedrosa applied power, shows the true right hand to rear wheel connection these days....

Your race/track bike; Carbs or EFI?

Yamaha effected something in the region of 90 changes to the second model, many of them trivial, but the significant difference was the usability.

Do you run it stock?

Yeah my mate had a 98' model, very different! More aggressive for sure stock vs stock... Mines got Ohlins steering damper, 03' forks/brakes, Ohlins rear shock, Akrapovic can and link pipe, K&N filter, KR108 tyres. Nothing special just a tidy bike I won't have nightmares dropping...

Serious question; do you guys on road tyres run warmers?
Do you notice the difference in sketchy weather?
