is de Angelis gay?

I think this was discussed before, but I am curious what weight the symbol of the rainbow carries in Italy or Europe?

In the US it is has pretty much come to represent diversity/acceptance but more specifically a symbol for homosexual pride. A new bar & grill opened up in our downtown recently, I noticed it the other day as I was driving by and thought oh cool. Then I noticed the little rainbow strip along the bottom of the sign, pretty much telling everyone inconspicuously that it is a gay bar.

What's de Angelis' message? That's a lot of valuable helmet space for a sponsor being taken up for just some fancy color scheme.

Maybe he just doesn't know what rainbow means this day and age. It's not like gay people own the rights to the rainbow anyways.

Im Not sure if the Rainbow is the Symbol for gay people world wide! its probably just an american thing! The sad part to this is that the only time people mention De angelis is when talking about his sexuality. not his race results

The rainbow thing is a sign for gay pride up here in Canada also. My son asked me if the guy was gay because of his helmet and I told him no it's because he likes helmets....ha ha ha well he thought it was funny...

Rainbow flag is the flag of the (infamous) pacifist movement, at least here in Italy. It's the same as the flag of homosexual people but with the colours upside down.
 
Somehow, I always had the impression that purple was the colour gays used.


Anyway, it was mentioned on Kropotkin's that DeAngelis will be replacing Canepa next year, and Melandri will be taking his seat.

btw that is not a normal rainbow. That is a 'Gay' Rainbow. The colours are slightly different & as you can see, De Angelis' helmet matches P E R F E C T L Y with the gay flag.

Perfect match. Never realised it. He actually looks kind of 'left field' if you know what I mean. Anway, all that aside, I think he'll go well here this weekend. Last year he was actually the second or third fastest on Race tyres before the rain came.

Pov - in fact since the vast majority of the world's population resides in Asia so the barometer of "world opinion" should be Asian opinion, not western. People are definitely not people where ever you go... social and cultural differences are stark and fundamental. Gays and transgenders are indeed embraced and accepted in the east to an extent unimaginable in the west. Your OP was your opinion, don't try to cloak it in the guise of "world opinion".
