better be careful riding in the buff on that thing...wouldn't want you to get burns from the oil thats gonna spew out of the engine when it blows again

really thinking about chopping it in for a ktm.

i don't really want a ktm but it's the next best thing for me i guess - it's a 300 mile round trip for me everytime i need soething done to the 'prilia and on recent evidence...... that looks pretty likely.

OR i could keep it and hope that they've fixed all the problems........

oh what to do

Its a tuff choice with so many on the market and if you want a real good propper Motard then you have to accept the maintence that comes with them, the Aprilia though was a joke the way it let you down..

Having ridden many I would go for a Husaberg Fs650e or the Fs450e but you would want to be a mechanic owning one of those not that they will let you down just that they are very high maintence.. They really are race bikes with lights. Most realible are Honda, KTM and Yamaha. I've never ridden a CCM I remember Roger saying he had one

If your good with the spanners go for a new '07/'08 Burg a lot more realible than the previous ones and they looks so much better in black than the usual yellow and blue, go to a dealer and take one for a burn

The DRZ is the perfect DAILY BEATER for the street.....no it's no where as fast as those, but it's a freaking tractor and super reliable...i change the oil every 1000 miles...6000 miles on her now, not one issue since i got her (knocks on wood)....

I would love an Aprilia, but from what i've read seen and researched...not gonna do it...
BUT i will be jumping on a KTM 690 SM soon.

Bring on that Prila
<

I like the Berg & the KTM.

I don't mind a bit of maintenance - oil changes, plugs and the like are probably as much as i can do. I'm no mechanic.

I bought the 'prilia cos i thought it was the best on the market, only it takes more than good looks & power (i should know
<
)- i know a few people who have them and all but 1 have had problems of some sort.

maybe this will be the end of it - the whole 5 months worth of only work cost me £140 cos most of it was under warranty but that is bad enough. i'm thinking it's better to sell it now while it's all fixed than to try and sell it when it's busted again.

it's ready now but i'm not going to germany next week so that's another week with no ride
<

thanks for that matey. that dyno chart just goes to show how much mumbo the sxv has. it's pretty brutal.

anyway - i've ponced a van and i'm off to blackburn in the am to pick my baby up.

i'll get my leg over her and see what happens.

i no i no your so totally in love you dont want to hear the truth. stop listening to your heart and listen to your head now. 500 mile rebuilds are enough to strain a marriage mate. unless the long quite lonely hours down the garage fixing it is your plan.
<

ooops i thought it was a runner now, my bad. scrap the ....... then. ask aprilla to buy it back

I rode the DRZ this weekend.....
