John Hopkins has decided against having surgery on his injured wrist before next weekend's Turkish Grand Prix.
The Suzuki rider suffered the injury during pre-season testing in Qatar in February and, despite still being in pain, he will continue to race without surgery.
"My wrist is still painful, but there was no way I was going to have an operation," said Hopkins.
"I would have been out for about six weeks and every race is so important that I can't afford to miss any."
Hopkins isn't expecting the injury to affect him when he is riding, and he is optimistic after running near the front at Jerez before he crashed.
"I'll have my wrist taped up and once I'm out on the bike the adrenaline will kick in and it should be ok," he added.
"At Jerez I could have made the podium if I hadn't crashed, so I just need to get my head down and concentrate."
