Honda offered more to Jorge than to keep Casey Stoner

Rossi salary is $17 million, with $13 million in endorsments on top of that.

....compare that to 35 year old boxer Floyd Mayweather's $85 million from salary/winnings alone......

Anyway, there's some more ammo for the Rossi bashers with wich to start many useless comparisons.

You forgot to mention the intangibility of the sum generated through image rights. Further fuel to the flaming

....... Oh well, good luck to him.

It amuses and irks me at the same time to see people take up arms in the war against Rossi, his ability to use his prescence and status to achieve what he wants out of MotoGP. It's old news in terms of the sport.

What about Ago back in his day ?...being in the ear of the good ol' count..getting the bikes, the media attention blah, blah, blah. When people go into bat for others in regards to this side of the sport, I find it ridiculous.

It's not Rossi's "fault" he see's an oportunity and exploits it. It's not Stoners, for example, "fault" that he's good at riding the bikes, and crap at the other side of things (by comparison).

It's just people carrying on trying to defend their particular idol....somewhat "teen-mag" if you ask me. Hence why, to me, I still like my riders as simple as G.Crosby.

"Which way does the track go, and what's the lap record ?"

I am often criticised for similarly bringing rossi into stoner discussions so won't point too many fingers, but what has rossi got to do with this thread? I have never heard that stoner wanted to be paid as well as rossi, he has in fact chosen not to be paid at all next year, and has been willing to accept less salary to do less public relations work in the past.

Someone a post or two back asked what Rossi was on.......just going from there...

Back to topic.

Nakamoto has already said Stoner was offerred the largest sum for any GP rider in history ...... Rossi has been surpassed ....... forget him ........ its now about how Honda now may have offered Lorenzo more than what they offered Stoner a few months ago .... and how that came about.

You would not pay Rossi the sum that Lorenzo or Stoner are offerred, ever. He is not in that league.
