Are you saying that HRC let him keep an RCV211?

Rossi has a couple of his race bikes. So this is probably true if it was written in his contract. But lets not forget that Rossi is still waiting for the NR500 that HRC promised him.....hmmm...it must be in the mail...

Yea, i heard that Doohan kept a bike for each of his titles, but Rossi didn't get his NSR. My surprise is just that the V5 is relatively new and very expensive, i would expect HRC to keep it all secret.

One of the reasons Nicky put that condition in writing is because Valentino hadn't!

The latter had gotten a verbal promise from Honda that he would get his bike, as it wasn't in writing he never got it. Or in other words, a quick and easy way to lose your champion rider.

It shouldn't be something you need to put in the contract... if you win the title your making the factory alot of money and popularity.

I totally agree with you on that but obviously the Evil Empire did not!

Well, of course the Evil Empire also forbid their riders to advertize any competing brand, so even if Nicky owns a beautiful Desmosedici RR he can not ride it in public or even speak about it...

Not that I would expect Ducati to be much different in such matters
