<{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>sucker, one of that two "low-level Japanese" in 2004 scores equal number of wins on customer bike as hayden did in 2006. and unlike colin donated assen06 win to hayden, tamada win rio and motegi in 04 fair & square.
I wont go as far as saying these comments piss me off, because thats just what sad losers who have nothing better to do than to try and get a rise out of genuine forum losers do. My advice? Go lay on a train track somewhere, or try and write someting intelligent and constructive. I swear I had a pet pigeon that was more intelligent than you.
But, I would like to add my two pence worth to the Nicky debate and admist I might be biased as i'm a fan but lets look at a few things.
Nicky was not 'gifted' the win in Assen 2006. He fought hard all race with Edwards and although he also went off, Edwards crashed in exactly the same way Stoner has crashed while leading Rossi this year, or Pedrosa crashed while leading in Germany. By your argument Rossi, Stoner and virtually every winning rider on the grid has been 'gifted' a victory right? Well guess what, thats racing! Sometimes you eat the bar and sometimes it eats you. Sure you get gifted results sometimes but thats why its called racing and not a parade as no-one knows what will happen. Plus by your argument Edwards was gifted the podium at Assen this year by Haydens bike failure.
Also people why say he was an undeserving champion in 2006 are talking total bollocks! Ok I agree that Hayden doesnt have the raw talent Rossi has but he totally deserved the championship that year because.
1. In the preseason and during it he did more testing laps that any other rider, while Rossi was (and i'm being frank here) being cocky and testing Ferrari F1 cars etc.
2. He did not fall or crash and finished every race of the season bar Estoril
3. He, along with Honda did a better job than the Rossi/Yamaha combo over the season by building a bike that didn't have chatter problems, didn't overheat in traffic and didnt keep blowing up
4. When he wasn't at the front he kept the bike on the track and picking up points, who the hell thinks you should only win championships if you win ten million races a season? Thats ........
5. Finally, Valencia 2006. The title went down to the wire and Hayden totally whipped Rossi's butt that day and then Rossi dropped the bike.
And, like someone else said on here, the history books are all that matters and at the end of the day they say the 2006 champion is NICKY HAYDEN.
