Hacking riding USGP

I'm wondering why did Kawi decide to put in a wildcard at Laguna when they didn't seem to care about one in Germany?
Monster Energy must be pissed at them. Here they put their sponsorship dollars on a MotoGp team that races mostly in Europe where there product wasn't until recently even sold.
Roger Lee Hayden went down and they never replaced him for at least 2 races so far on the Superbike.
Putting Hacking on the bike makes sense because he is a good rider but at 37 years old we all know it's a one shot deal. At least last year with RLH it was understood that it was maybe a tryout for the future.
I'm wondering if the only reason they are running a 2nd bike is because Monster pushed them.
Or maybe it's because Kawi values the American market more than any other.
We discussed this in another thread but it appears more and more to me that Kawi just puts bikes (bike) on the grid to gain (minimal) exposure.

Maybe their wasn't time to get a replacement? Maybe their management just operates a little slower?
But we do know this as pretty certain: Roger Lee was probably #1 pick to be the wildcard, but got hurt and is in no way ready. But you're right, Monster probably influenced picking hacking over davies.
As far as Kawasaki obtaining mediocre results just about everywhere...bleh, I think you may be right, minimum effort, minimum monetary investment = minimum results. They just aren't committed to winning. It's like a token presence on the grids.

Go Hacker!

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>Hacking received the call-up to MotoGP during his 37th birthday celebrations two weeks ago and has already impressed Kawasaki in a two-day test at the Autopolis circuit in Japan on the 800cc prototype, where he broke the lap record.

If he finishes above westy, a job well done imo.

The Kwacker is a piece of .....

Can do any worse that DuHammel eh?

Shame the AMA boys have to ride twice on the day - which series comes first?

Qualified 12th. Don't look like top 10 is out of the question. Not sure which race is run first, I'll check this out. Do know their showing MotoGP first and AMA Superbike next. what ever that means. I'll report back.

Just checked. MotoGP starts at 2:00pm west coast time and AMA SB starts at 3:45 west coast time. Looks like they will be virtually stepping off the GP bike and on to the SB. Best of luck to all.

SO....
Hacking out qualifies Ant West.
Does this mean that Westy is finally done or chaulk it up to home track/track knowledge?

I am really interested in seeing if Hacking beats a few of the motogp regulars. That would really be interesting. Everyone keeps saying that the riders in AMA are sub par to BSB and definitely sub par to WSBK. I think this shows that the AMA has some real talent.

I think thats a slightly more impressive ride than Spies who's teammate got a podium.
Hes better than West thats for sure.
