Hey Guys and Gals,

MMP is just a day's ride north, so...

Unfortunately, my right shoulder rehab doesn't allow me to ride yet so I drove up for the race. Jason was in back of the pack. How sad that American racing has come to this, huh? But I loved the sights and sounds of road racing even though I don't have as much a connection to WSBK as I do to MotoGP.

I've had the pleasure of attending Jason's Daddy's, Reg, CLASS a few times over the past 20+ years, and it was great. He even hauled my butt around the track as a pillion once! Way fun! Expensive, but it will increase your speed far, far more than a pipe, filter, map and tires!!! I missed seeing him win those first AMA championships as I was still a 'Cold Warrior' at the time.

I wish something could be done to bring the AMA Superbike series up to the level of its own hype!!!

DMG will never do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Checa rode well. I'd love to see Ten Kate put a bike in the AMA series. It's all Yosh Zooks here and the other teams don't really have it! Of course, that is just the American perspective coming through. It is amazing how few fans attended the MMP event. It is depressing and it is probably why I follow MotoGP more than WSBK. The AMA series just fails the comparison so miserably. I do plan to attend Assen and Monza next year when I visit Europe. Le Mans is on the agenda as well. I wish I could see the F1 at Monaco, but they just have too many wheels. My Dear Wife, Dianne, is a major gear head and she may make me go to Monaco for at least one day of practice to hear the wail of the engines.

Really a shame about Haga. I have always liked him and his style. He sorta' reminds me of Revin' Kevin at his prime! Chili was always a favorite; I just loved that guy for some reason. He was the ultimate Pro Racer. He always seemed to have a smile and a lot of time for the fans and the little guys. Of course, ya' have to like a guy who once held the outright lap record at the IoM TT as Carl did, but he wasn't really a 'motorcycle' type. He just loves to compete! He just happened to end up on two wheels. I guess I don't have enough live exposure to WSBK any more.

Well, the weekend was fun, but it just isn't the same when our local boys won't mix it up!
