Formula 1 2009

and because that isn't practical only kova's car was heavier in q3 on regular basis?

this quote after china 07 shows his true colors:

"The problem was rain and his (Hamilton's) tyres were in the worst condition. But we weren't at all fazed about Kimi. We weren't racing Kimi, we were basically racing Fernando."

he admitted that he raced his own driver. absolutely brilliant.

I'm no McLaren fan, I'm no Ron Dennis fan, but I warmed to them in the last 2 years.

I understand what Ron was all about, the integrity debates etc......but last year in particular I saw a man who was speaking from the 'business heart', not just the 'business head'! The emotion was clear to see.........his protege actually achieving the dream.

It's a good time to take a back seat in a big comfy chair for Ron, he has nothing more to prove. (IMO)

Well considering that Lewis was consistently the quicker driver i think it's only logical. How would you prefer they chose stratergies? Flip a coin perhaps? Magic 8 ball?

As for the quote, I wouldn't be too upset by the concept of F1 cars racing each other, it does happen.

Formula 1 cars are getting uglier and uglier every year. Now this car right here is the best F1 car ever.

heikki is 95% of the time heavier then hamilton during crucial q3 sessions. it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that if you want to have a fair shot for the championship, you have to qualify in the front row especially in this era when overtaking at the front is almost impossible.

he was usually 3-4 laps heavier, why not only one? because fuel corrected hk was often faster than hamilton in q trim and if the difference would be only one lap he'd be able to qualify ahead of hamilton.

quote.. he said "we", not hamilton... we=mclaren raced alonso.

I disagree, i think that car looks pretty average, and is saved by a classic livery. Gold Leaf Lotus 72's and other cars from the early 70's are my favorites.

I like these, they look like Thunderbird Tyrell. FAB

Well.... personally my favorite open wheel race car is the CART Reynards with a nice Honda turbo motor to boot.

Not a huge fan of the JPS livery, they are pretty cool but not very exciting.

News just in!

The Ferrari Formula 1 team fired their entire pit crew yesterday.
The announcement followed Ferrari's decision to take advantage of the UK Government's Youth Opportunity Scheme and employ people from Glasgow.

The decision to hire them followed a recent documentary on how unemployed youths from the Govan and Possilpark areas of Glasgow were able to remove a set of wheels in less than 6 seconds without proper equipment, whereas Ferrari's existing crew can only do it in 8 seconds with millions of Euros worth of high tech equipment.

Prime Minister Gordon Brown went on record as saying this was a bold move by the Ferrari management which demonstrated the international recognition of the UK under New Labour.

As most races are won and lost in the pits, Ferrari thought they had the advantage over every team.

However, Ferrari got more than they bargained for. At the first practice session, the Govan & Possilpark pit crew successfully changed the tyres in less than 6 seconds, but within 12 seconds they had re-sprayed, re-badged and sold the vehicle to the McLaren team for 8 bottles of WKD Irn Bru, a kilo of speed and some photos of Lewis Hamilton's bird in the shower.

Hahahaha... that is perfect.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Hayden Fan @ Feb 14 2009, 03:43 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Why do McLaren fans have so much bottled up hate towards the rest of F1?

I don't know, its common of fans to take on their chosen driver/rider/teams battles and exagerate them. Haydens fans hate Dani, Rossi's fans hate Stoner, Lewis' fans hate ALonso and it goes on and on like this. Ferrari fans will tell you that the FIA always makes the correct decision and Mclaren fans will tell you that F1 is conspiring against them. If you look at it reasonably both are wrong and the truth lies somewhere in the middle.

I'm excited too, already booked Silverstone Tickets!! The championship will be facinating, and predictions are impossible to make until we see the relative levels of machinary
