FINALLY CONFIRMED! Yamaha will welcome valentiono rossi officially tomorrow morning

I found it harsh, straighforward and pretty funny. Opinions are like ........, I guess.

Yes, everyone has one. Everyone is going to have a different take on his interview and that's their right. Unsure why Stoner would care enough to spurt his sauce like that on record - intense dislike of his old friend Valentino.

Probably because his been given the same treatment by his old friend Valentino, although I think there's a bit of sarcastic reference to how he himself is often potrayed in the media and among certain fans. I also think he is still sympathetic towards some people within the Ducati and believes they have gotten dealt a pretty rotten hand by Rossi.

Yes Rossi has made a few sniping comments from time to time. As has Stoner. I can't remember an interview where Rossi has just blasted him though.

That's probably because somehow starting every sentence with 'For sure', ending every other word with 'ah', smiling and waving to the camera let's you get away with murder. Rossi slings his slimey sugar coated poison at his competitors and his fans praise him for his wittiness and brilliant 'mind games'. The rest of the world sees how good, honest sportmen are getting unashmadely mocked and lambasted, and when they have the audacity to react, they get knocked for being ungracious.

Want to see respect? Look at how Lorenzo, Pedrosa and Stoner interact, despite fierce competition.

I fail to see how anyone could see this as anything but WWF style trash talking? There is a huge difference between this & straight talking.

More dribble

Do elaborate!
I sound like a broken record but .... it here goes...

His choice of words, straight talking is not aiming barbs, he could state his point far more concisely by highlighting his truths in a more dignified fashion. Instead he gives a sensationalist interview worthy of crash.net, or BM etc. It's headline grabbing, not straight talking. People often accuse Rossi of using the media but what else is this? Blatantly contrived.

Ok, noted. I can agree with you on one thing, he was well aware of the media impact his words would have. I can even imagine that he intended to aggravate Rossi with his answers, which I suppose you could interpret as WWF like.

However, none of it strikes me as insencere or contrived. Although harsh, I don't find it overly undignifyed given his history with Rossi. Put it another way, put in his position I would not have been much kinder myself (go ahead woody, time to do some of armchair psychology on me for that one!)

Fair lay some people on here just plain hate Rossi and don't see past this hate to see what has gone on. If Stoner likes Ducati so much why didn't he sick with them? He jumped ship for a few reasons but chief among them was that Honda offered him a more competitive bike. Sound familiar? Yes Burgess said he could fix the bike but if the designer of the bike hasn't a clue of how to fix it, although it's been explained to him for the past 18 months, and is evident by the fact that Preziosi reached out to Furusawa, then what the .... is he supposed to do? It's obviously become clear to Burgess and Rossi that Ducati are incapable of fixing the issues so he's left to be on a more competitive bike. There is not one single person on here who in his situation would have done it differently.

So it's ok for stoner to moan all the time win or not ;if things go wrong it is never his fault .How come it is ok for him to jump ship but no one eles can 'i am so glad he is going ;and if you look at MCN on facebook a lot think the same

You ignored the first part, where he mentions the Rossi "lets stick together" helmet.

In fact Stoner matched it when he did the retirement denial then one week later retired!

Unlike you I am going to miss the trashtalk and the on track battles these two provided.

Haha, that gave me the funniest pic in my head of Rossi saying "stick it up your arse", then chucking his bike over the fence at laguna into the waiting skip bin

No other GP rider has ever said anything as "straight" as what Stoner has put into words.

Just because you boppers are as bent as a silly straw you want to cry about it ......

Without wanting to get involved in the rest of the discussion, I believe that ducati/malboro ducati bailed on stoner rather than the reverse, both in stoner's own mind and in actuality.

(EDIT not of particular concern to me what a lot on mcn and/or face book think).
