Does AMA/DMG even register on the Yamaha factory radar.I wonder how much money Graves receives from Yamaha Racing.As far as Benny, maybe you can fill me in on the chronological order of that cluster ..... Who did not foresee a problem with a rider sponsored by Red Bull, riding a bike Sponsored by Monster.Im missing something.
Much 'more' like riding a 500?
Only a .... like yourself would take that as literally as you have.........
Unless you think the current 800's have very direct similarities to the 500's......please enlighten us all then?

Hahaha, that's amazing. What don't you understand the word 'compare'? You say how utterly "absurd" it is to compare 500 to 800s. Then you are shown the Great One, The Divine One, The 9 Time World Champ, do exactly what you call "absurd", and you then try to weasel out of what you said? You are worthless! Why don't you just concede Mr. Overstate?

It took me a moment to understand the message of your post (you might want to consider expressing yourself more clearly...although the '....' part was clear).
Nevertheless, as you've undertaken the effort of replying to my post, I am glad to reciprocate.
Now, my friend, I believe I was only agreeing with you wholeheartedly about comparing 800's to 500's, but I still seem to have struck a nerve somehow.
So I guess what you are trying to tell me is that the reference I made to someone committing this crime is inappropriate, because it did in fact not pertain to someone comparing 800's to 500's at all.
Fair enough, we can argue about this if you like. Here is part of the Webster definition of 'compare':

Fits the bill nicely, I would say. Obviously, you disagree. Unfortunately, the first part of your last sentence did not clarify your argument to me. Perhaps you could rephrase it?
As for the last part of your last sentence: I consider most of the people on this board to be reasonably enlightened and not in need of my help; but as you can see, I am more than happy to put in a little extra effort just for you.

Logic much? You said it was "absurd" to compare a 500 to an 800. Thee Valentino Rossi, the Doctor, the 9 time world champion was quoted comparing them. So, by your logic, Valentino Rossi is absurd.

Hey, Rossi said the Ducati needs to be ridden in a way that is similar to the old 500s -- he was not speaking about any of the other 800s, which evidently do not need to be ridden like that... In particular he was referring to the need to 'point and shoot' when negotiating corners, rather than going round and smooth in 250 style -- which is the typical style these 800s are using. So this discussion is about nothing really... Problem solved...
Nor Rossi or myself technically compared a 500 to an 800 and it is absurd to suggest otherwise.....
I believe it was bunny who speculated that an 800 is as hard to master as a 500.......not me. I just stated that it is absurd to compare the two, which it is.
And to correct, rossi stated it was 'more like' a 500 not that it was like a 500
