I would have liked to see Rossi, Edwards and Roberts on the podium

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (BEN @ Oct 16 2006, 07:34 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Christ.......the news even made bbc radio 1 today! (the UK's biggest station).........they only ever mention motogp if something bad has happened.
They showed it on the BBC news this morning too.

Bloody hell..............shame it takes something like this to make the UK news.

In all my post i havnt stated that I'm gutted for Nicky.........he's been super consistent all season, its a bitter pill to swallow....but he has to bounce back and ride the wheels of at Valencia, regardless of the championship standing - I want a Rossi VS Hayden last lap battle, I want to see Nicky aggresive riding - with his heart and not his head, who knows - this crash could bring out the devil in Nicky next season........especially if Rossi wins this year.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (ed24 @ Oct 15 2006, 05:29 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>What did Hayden had to say about the "incident" with Pedrosa? Anyone knows?

Hayden interview on BBCi hit the red button. The memorable quote was "Do you think Edwards was going to pass Rossi today?........Noho ho ho"
He did also say that he hopes that Danni doesn't get suspended or his finger hurts too bad so that they can do a 1 2 in Valencia and still win the championship.

He sounded a bit of a broken man, I hope that he doesn't do a Gibbers and lose his bottle for the last race. Lets face it Hayden has had the number two bike all year, he has been testing parts all year and still been consistent. Pedrosa has had the best bike, but who has proved themselves to be the best rider? I hope Hayden wins the next race. Then next year there could possibly be 2 former and one current world champ on the podium, yesterday 1 world champ and 1 former, getting there!!!!

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (roger-m @ Oct 15 2006, 08:46 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>i was wrong in an earler post when i said hayden didnt try and re-join the race.
well ive just seen the re-run and most sertenly did try so sorry to hayden..
glad we get re runs some time so we can watch again with a clearer head. think i must have been shouting at the tv so much i missed some of it.

I know how you feel mate! I was screaming at the telly, I'm surprised you didn't hear me!
<
It was good to watch again, if there is a DVD of that race out.......I'm first in the queue for it!
<

just an obsevation.... here was a debate where was disscused if hayden desrves the championship.... many said no ( i did too) becouse racing is also about wining not just gaining points from yuor rival ...thanks to a safe ride and to take advantage of otheres bad luck....others said tha he has the points and he deserves to be a champion...

Now everybody is gutted for hayden....now he lost the championship chance... ohh poor guy... to be taken out... we feel so sorry for him...
<

Where are those who said that if he wins it he will be only a point winner not a true champion..... they have what they ask for now..... hayden in order to win will have to beat rossi and to be the chasser not the one in front that only needs to play it safe....

For those who said that if he has the points he is a champion i say.. look at the table... no matter what happen.... bad luck or not... rossi is now in front and the roles reversed... both for fans and for riders.....

Maybe a bitter pillow to swallow but rossi had one too likewise dani melandri and capirossi....

Come on people... racing involves beside winning and overtaking and superb rides also crashing and stupid mistakes...

That inccident can only prove that dani is not a honda robot.. that never smiles but a human rider....
<

cheers

Nicky was obviously delirious.
Someone gives the poor kid a video of the race.

<

But I like him and I wish he and Dani had chased Rossi.

What is the maximum number of points he had ahead of Rossi in the season?

Ha ha what's not to like? I think Hayden reminds me a bit of Forest Gump

Life is like a box of choclits, you never know when pedrosa's gonna get you!

A clutch is probably the simplest component on a race bike, next to the friggin chain! CHRIST...I BARELY USED MY CLUTCH IN RACING....I'd slap shift that bitch at 14 thousand rpm up or down and I'd be fine.... If a clutch is good enough to get you on the podium...its good enough to get you to the top box.....what I see in this is a concerned effort to establish that Hayden's season somehow mirrors the same bad luck pattern that Rossi has endured.....and that's a steaming pile of ........

That's cool, what kind of bike did you race?

I'm sure Dani didn't do that because he was thinking in his WDC chances, anyone who cares to read what Dani and his team say knows that he has never had the championship as an objective, and certainly after the disastrous asian tour there was no chance of winning the championship.

And there was no way he was saving that one with or without Hayden infront so how's that supposed to be thinking in the WDC???

That and the "I'm pissed because Nicky overtook me so I'm gonna knock him down on purpose" are totally wrong. Because there's no logic in them.

The only debatable issue is if Dani was trying to overtake or not. I believe Dani's comment (maybe because I'm biased) but I do think he was honest when he said he just lost it, I've seen the video and I've seen interview and while in the video it looks more like Dani was trying to overtake the body language and the voice tone he used in the interview makes me think he was really honest and just really sad and ashamed of his mistake. Maybe I'm wrong and he is lying and it's just he is good at acting, but I felt he was almost going to start crying right there.

It's just a really sad situation for HRC because I also feel very sorry for Nicky, he's been soooo close to the title and now it looks so far away. And it could take years for Rossi to have another bad luck season like this one so the others can have a chance.

yah, sensed that too when I saw the interview.

Agree.

Though, if rossi will retire...I'm a rossi fan, though not a bopper, and I want him to win (of course), just that I was wondering what is left for him to prove...7 world titles...and a possible 8... But this point is for another topic, so never mind.

I just think it dosen't make sense, a guy like Pedrosa who has been ridiculed for being too calm and quiet becoming some sort of hotheaded vengeful monster thinking of nothing but beating Hayden if it costs him everything sounds a bit far fetched to me. So I agree, Teo. Amazing how Pedrosa can change into whatever sort of enemy people want to hate most, isn't it?

Ben, this thread must break a few records, it's out of control.

Pedrosa messed up, big time. Some people here have said he was trying to overtake and some have said he just lost it lost it. Most of us don't and won't ever know because it's obvious Dani isn't being completely honest about what happened. Whatever the real reason is, is of no consequence. So it was one of two things, it was an aggressive, ego-driven attempt at a pass showing insane stupidity, or, a careless loss of control that you would expect from a complete novice, not a cool-headed world champion.

He was trying a pass, ' lost it ' my ass. Now we are beginning to find out who Dani Pedrosa is.
