nice pic iulia!! its a shame elias' win has been completely overshadowed but that pic shows just how damn close it was!!

About the clutch, it's not a ........ excuse, both HRC Hondas have had problems with it. IMO the reason is that the clutch was not design to withstand the Launch Control system that was added to the bike AFTER the clutch was designed.

The Launch control has to transfer all the power from the engine revving at the limit to the rear wheel in the minimum amount of time, that can overstress the clutch plates if there is too much friction.
That could slightly damage the clutch, it will turn softer, it may slide a little under full acceleration.
In F1 they introduced LC a few years ago and suddenly cars stared to stall when the lights went green due to damaged clutch.

But in the last test in Japan HRC and Hayden worked hard on that problem, so it should have been solved for Estoril and Valencia.

About the Dani/Nicky crash just one more thing to add, everyone is entitled to an opinion, but an opinion based on anger and no facts or reasoning is useless.

Some guys are comparing the Schumacher incidents with Villeneuve and Hill with Dani's, but just think about it. If MS took out Villeneuve or Hill he automatically won the championship, that's a good reason to do it.
Now think about what Dani got when he took out Nicky.

i thought the problem they were having with the clutch was that the cable ran through the centre of the engine on the EVO and was heating it up making it stress under the heat and not work properly...

That's probable, Katt. I mean, it agrees with Doc's theory that a clutch is too simple to have such a problem, and it would be a ..... to fix. I dunno, might be tru, might not be. One thing's for sure. HRC ain't gonna tell us

that's the same reason why I only have posted 110 replies in 2 years on that forum. they all seem to agree on everything that 1 person is saying, and if 1 person (like me now and in previous topics) is not agreeing, you get those irritated 'moderators' telling you that 'if your not a hayden fan, don't go the site and give your opinion'

so glad our forum isn't like that!

If you want to win a race in motogp not only you have to fight against several 125, 250 and motogp champions but also beat Rossi.

And that is what Elias did in Portugal. I saw how he kept cool in the chicane. His body language was revealing how determined he was to win: he repositionned his body in the last curve with an electric movement to catch the slipstream from the very first meter of the straight... 125 master wisdom!

When you think that it was generally accepted that motogp slipstreams weren't of much help only one year ago due to the power and poor aerodynamics of the chuncky 990 cc!

couldnt agree more richo, a forum IS ALL about debates and opinions. i signed upto the NH forum once and posted a cpl of times. i may be inclined to go have another look and see what else they're saying!

Ive just watched the accident between danni and nicky, and despite what Danni says that the back end came off the ground under breaking, it didn't at all, the front wheel hit the rumble strips, and tucked. Its Bull. Watched it in slow motion on dvd that i recorded it on.

yeah I don't know why I signed up for it too. I signed up for it at the WAY early days, when they took away that blue page because it was going the wrong way (to much debate I guess ) I only come to that site bc I want to read what NH has to say.

if i remember correctly it was because we were getting a lot of them coming on here so i figured i would return the compliment and check out that one too. haha i think my first post was an introduction where i mentioned that i wasnt a big hayden fan and more a pedrosa fan imagine that going down well now
