Ok rectification of the Duc. time again.

According to Rossi the front end is "better" but the understeer remains.

Thats hardly surprising as:

They have tipped the engine back lessening the VSG effect with engine revs. so it will be more predictable, but .........

They have both shotened the bike as well as tipped the engine backwards ..... both actions move the centre of static mass rearward, hence lighter on the front end hence less front end traction.

The tipped back the mass of the engine should now also be brought forward.

Its all about grip balance.

I'm laughing because if you peek at the Jerez pictures on Krop's site, you see Nicky running a long wheel base and Vale running a short wheelbase. Nick is complaining abour rear traction, Vale is complaining about understeer. It almost seems the simple fix would be to have the axle in the middle of where Vale and Nicky are running currently and viola both of their problems are fixed....sorry I couldn't resist.

So Noyes mentions the changes coming in May are not related to a new v angle motor, but actually a smaller displacement lower reving motor? Can someone please explain the benefits of a smaller lower revving engine?

The world's smallest, I suppose?

Is it possible that it is the 800cc donk rebored out to 930cc? Is that possible or would they have to use a longer stroke crank to reach that capacity?

The 800 would probably already have a very oversquare bore/stroke, I doubt they could rebore out to 930. The old 990 duke supposedly had an 86mm bore. The new limit is 81mm. I reckon they have a bore/stroke ratio they think is perfect, but couldnt use it at 1000cc because it went over the 81mm, so they ran 930cc.
