I wasn't trying to bash you personally, I have strongly held beliefs about both cod psychology (not so sure about psychology in general either, which in my time and that of 2 of my siblings who withdrew from studying it, which was admittedly decades ago, we regarded as a pseuodscience, and this despite the fact I got first in the psychology subject in my medical degree "as it happens") independent of the practitioner, and about people thinking their experience as sportsmen is relevant to world champion athletes in high level and high profile sports. I had an extensive previous debate with a Lorenzo hating Frenchman on another forum along similar lines as I detailed.I am the ...... police. If a ...... gets out of hand I'll grab it by the clit.
I laugh every time you or anyone else tried to discredits my cod psyc'ing without knowing much about me. I offered to inlighten Michael about why I may be credible but he chose not to engage the conversation anymore proving he was just try to bash me. I don't care about my credibility to you though. I don't even know who you are. You new?
I have subsequently realised I was a little unfair, and since the opportunity arises I will say I am sure as a physical trainer with competitive experience you can advise and train people about the right approach to competition and many sportsmen have assistance in that regard, and usually not from people who were top sportsmen themselves.
I do object to psychoanalysis via internet of Stoner or any one else, psychoanalysis itself probably not having much currency in modern psychiatry and real practitioners of it being rare now in any case. Talk about his "demons" etc from someone who has never met him is pure balderdash, again imo.
I could counterpoint by saying you were bashing Stoner as you often do imo. As I said to your friend JK in a personal message, I myself take no personal offence at you disagreeing with me about Stoner, but will argue vehemently against what I consider to be invalid, given this is exactly the type of thing which annoyed him when he was racing and was a major cause of his disillusionment with the sport.
You specifically argued that Stoner should have won more titles on a Ducati on which no-one else could win a dry race, and a rider considered one of the top riders before encountering the bike and the winner of 5 premier class races in Marco Melandri and Rossi himself couldn't get within a second of his times on it (2 seconds in Melandri's case). All the mental strength in the world won't get you a title on a current Aprilia or the "production" Honda of last year.
Imo the situation of riders who challenge Rossi in the Rossi era of bike racing is fairly unique with only 3 or 4 sportsmen having relevant experience as I have said. How would you like it if you won the world BMX/MTB/whatever championship fairly and were called by a large element among the followers of such bike racing a scumbag who didn't deserve to be on the same dais as the runner up and were only there because of a superior bike, particularly if you knew your bike to have been inferior, or at least extremely difficult to ride? Someone in a previous debate came up with the example of Ali as another example of a leading sportsmen who like Rossi incited the vilification of his rivals, but while the likes of Frazier and to a lesser extent Foreman may not have been popular I don't recall any widespread belief as a result of this that they couldn't fight, which is what happened to Hayden, Stoner and to some extent Lorenzo in regard to their riding.
