when it comes to his soon to be ex teammate.

What is it like having Iannone as teammate?

Iannone is not a rider with whom you can work as a team. He thinks he's very important and he only thinks about himself.

So it's hard to establish a relationship that helps us develop the bike together, just like you can't compete against him in a calm way. It's not easy.

Dovi's problem is that while he has powers and abilities far beyond those of mortal men, he never really had 'it' like the elite participants in the sport including Stoner. It is not as though he has not had every opportunity, with HRC, Tech 3 where he was provided with a fairly high quality Yamaha when he was there, and now the Ducati factory team.

Crazy Joe is crazy, obviously, but has race winning potential beyond what Dovi has or has ever had, as does Crutchlow, imo. Dovi is very likely the most competent journeyman of all, no small thing, but so it goes.

Hard worker great attitude. What is there not to like about Dovi?

You had Stoner as a teammate in the past, and now he is a tester. What does he bring?

Obviously, the relationship has changed a lot because now if he can help you, he does. He's very positive and he has changed the way he looks at the races.

He hated everybody before, and that led to him shutting down and always being angry. Now he does what he wants, he's much more relaxed, he comes over and talks to you and spends time with you.

What does he bring? Good things. Let's say he's not the usual test rider, like Pirro, who is completely involved in the development of the bike. Casey has done a few tests and has given his opinion, but his influence this year has not been big because he hasn't always been there.

Suzuki has no idea what they'we gotten themselves in. Iannone and Rins won't play well together in my opinion. Both are quite weird.

Dovi and Lorenzo won't be best friends but I expect mutual respect and no involvement in one another's business.

Winners seem to have that mentality even before they are a winner. Look at past champions and find me one thats not selfish.

Interesting

The Aussie excuse machine is currently working harder than the National Hurricane Service meteorologists.
Cue up 40 pages of excuses and denegrating Dovi.
I said it yesterday. A person thats not happy is going to find plenty of things wrong with their job.

I'm actually a bit surprised that Dovi thought Stoner was a ..... But it does add a lot of validation to what I've said for years.

The maniac is one of my favourite riders to watch, he never holds back and is a master of binning it into other riders. His performance at Assen this year had me in stitches, how he finished the race in 5th is beyond me. If he could settle down a bit i think he would do really well.

I can see why Ducati choose Dovi though, the maniac would be a nightmare to work with.

Im not surprised that any of these guys are ...... Its just a shame that he couldn't do what most athletes do, and use that anger against his opponents on Sunday. Ive been saying this for years. Stoners talent is never in question. He didnt have the mentality of an athlete and thats what impeded his success and drove him from the game.

Who better to know about complaining than you right JKD?

Every post you make is like a Stoner press conference. The negativity oozes out.

Whining about everything under the sun and questioning what others do.

Meanwhile, here you are posting, never knowing what it means to be good at something.

This thread is about Stoner no?
I guess your ignoring the complement I gave him.
For the record my whine rate is on average 1.5 posts per day. Maybe someday Ill be good at something like posting and match your 10 whines per day

The thread is about a Dovi Q&A that happened to mention Stoner.

Actually, no one even noticed till Kant posted the bit about Stoner from the Q&A. Then to no one's surprise, it was like a lantern attracting a swarm of insects on a hot summer night...only instead of insects, it attracted Frick and Frack as usual. Though maybe you two aren't as far removed from insects as I thought.

For a guy who you were complaining about being talked about, you missed no chance to continue talking about him.

Actually no, it's about Dovi thinking Ianonne is is a ...... bag.
Which he is, ianone that is. A guy who is too thick to pick his bike up 100m from the finish line after wiping out his team mate deserves the sack. Plus he tows and that's really annoying.

Dovi seems like a nice chap, a professional and just gets on with it.

I looks to be about a lot of topics. Dovi's season this far, Gigi's Influence, the addition of Jl, and Stoner. Most of those are tangible topics with the execption of the tabloid fodder clickbait about Iannone. For someone who supposedly cares nothing about riders personalities, you sure seem obsessed with vapid stories about them.

Queue the Dovi hatred around the forums as Ianonne is quite popular so expect this comment to fire up the fans.

You need that selfish streak to succeed (IMO) as you need to look out for and after number one and make all people work for number 1 ........... you.

Whilst at the top you are not paid to care of or for others but to achieve results which means that you need to be selfish and in many ways a total prick which does mean that whilst some can switch off socially others cannot.

Nothing new there ........ CS was the angry ant of the backyard and well known for it when outside of the comfort zone (remembering that some were close and inside the circle).

At the same time, Dovi lost his ride effectively at HRC because Stoner came along (remember that HRC tried to get rid of Dovi but he exercised the option) and there may be a little 'left over angst' as a result

Couple that with Stoner being faster in the initial tests which led to talk of Dovi losing his ride (at that time) and it would have felt like a case of deja vu for him.

By the sound of the article, Stoner's role is to test the finished product moreso than develop as that would fall into Pirro's realm although Dovi may well also mean that the extra speed of Stoner places him above Pirro in how he tests.

I said it yesterday. A person thats not happy is going to find plenty of things wrong with their job.

Does the same apply to Dovi as (in the article) he pinted out flaws, issues and problems .......... thus not a happy camper (doubt any of those that compete would be 100% happy as they always want more .......... as they should in the environment).

No excuses here either as Stoner was known to be focused and angry in the paddock, it is what drove him to be the rider he was and the successes he had (although there were some with whom he was close - Edwards, Spies, Davies to name three so it may be more a language thing with which he was comfortable).

He may also be among those people who seem to need to hate the others to compete ............ no idea if that is correct but some people need that to be more competitive where I personally do not see that being a CS motivator but do see him giving an FU to those with whom he does not like.

Being fair though JKD the title has relevance today moreso than does the comments about what CS was like in the team back in the HRC days, although it is a very good comparison to how he is today and again illustrates that the decision to retire (you say quite) was correct as obviously he (CS) is in a better place which means that others likely appreciate the company more.

Interestingly enough with that title and comment will be the next few races between the pair

Absolutely homie. But its how you handle yourself during that time that is important. I said this to someone earlier, Casey is a .... Jorge is a ..... and Rossi is a ..... Isn't it funny how the ...... can have such different meanings? I have stated that I am a fan of the old school hardcore .... your mum if she is hot style of racer. Although Marc isn't old school he has managed to steer clear of being a ....... I'm impressed with his composure with all that he has been through so far in his career and he has made me a big fan. I usually like ...... but in this case I prefer Marc.
