Dovi might be leaving Ducati

Dovi is reportedly asking for 7mil and Ducati is reportedly offering 5 mil. They will more than likely settle at 6 mil.

As you've already said, this is the same negotiation dance that plays out in every team.

if Ducati is offering 5 mil, I think Honda could match that or even beat that... he wouldn't have number 1 status, but he would be on a better bike and with a better team, plus Honda might be able to offer him a better merchandising deal.

The announcement shall not arrive this weekend in Le Mans, but is likely to be done at Mugello.

It seems like Dovizioso's bike color will most definitely keep being red. Him and Ducati got "closer" in the past few days, mainly thanks to Phillip Morris (Ducati's main sponsor/investor) who offered financial support in order to make Dovizioso "happy" with the Ducati offer and having him signing.

Lot of noise for nothing then? I kinda hope so.

This will be best the best all 'round. I've thought for some time that Ducati would be where he would play out the rest of his prime years in MotoGp. And lets face it - other than MM - there's really nobody superior to replace him, given the amount of time he's spent as a co-developer of the bike. Nobody has gelled with it as well as Dovi. He also seems to be able get the most of out of the bike, sans wings.

BTW - I was going to refer to you as "Paisan" like we do in Nu Yawk, but J4rno years ago rejected that for as non-authentic for reasons I can't recall. What is the Italian equivalent of "Bro"?

I don't know who j4rno is, but if he was Italian I'd assume he rejected it as paisan is the short form of paisano (which is actually spelled "paesano" in proper Italian) and, while I am well aware that it means "bro/fella" in American english, in Italian it means "peasant".

As per our version of "Bro", some use the word "Fratè" which comes from fratello, which means "brother" (would you have guessed?) but that's considered kinda lame. Most people just borrow the word "bro" directly from English.

A cool way to call your mates in northern Italian would be "vecio" which literally means "old" but is used only among young people to call each other and it equals to "bro".

Yes I know that calling each other "old" if you're young doesn't make any sense. We are weird people :D

My mom's side of the family is from Naples so it's all good. Language in general is often non-logical; maybe none more-so than English.

Naple's where coffee's at!

I nowadays live a strange life in which for a number of reasons English is kinda my first language as I use it a lot more than Italian, so maybe that's why it sounded even less logical :D

However, "bro" in Naples is "Cumpà" :D

For what it's worth, mate, unless you would've mentioned it, I would never have thought that you're Italian, your English is faultless.

As for Naples, it has my favourite sculpture, The Statue Of The Veiled Christ, by Giuseppe Sanmartino.

Well thak you Sir! It took me a few years to bring it at the level I wanted it to be but I'm almost there.

Funnily enough tho, I have never been to Naples :D

I agree about your English. J4rn0 who seldom posts now (he is Italian and exceptionally rare in being both a Rossi fan and a Stoner fan) had a similar command of the language.

SIGNED!

Dovi with Ducati for another 2 years.

Press conference today at 5 PM French time.

The mad scramble starts now.

Iannone hoping to stay with Suzuki or go to Aprilia
Petrucci waiting to see what J.Lo does or go to Aprilia
J.Lo waiting to see what Suzuki does or stay with Ducati.

A bit silly to see these things happen early in the season though.

The real question now is what will JL do

I also wonder if, as rumored, Pedrosa will (finally) leave HRC
