Oh come now, this isn't me being biased! Blind spot at 45 deg?? The marshal is a big orange blob right there!
Most motorcycle helmets (never worn a driving one) have a horizontal vision range of about 110 deg (55 deg off-axis). A racing helmet with less than that for a sport where peripheral vision is exceptionally important doesn't make sense.
So you aren't going to test it then?
I have, well, from experience.
In my helmet vision is around 110 degrees as you suggest (perhaps larger) and yet I cannot see a lot of things that are at angles to me without a head turn/check when those things (a dog for example) approaches from the side.
As suggested, check/test it and remembering during the test that you have just crashed and thus your focus is not looking for others but looking for yourself.
Bias exists both overtly (conciously) and covertly (subconciously) btw
IMO once again, all is much ado about nothing as he is not the first and nor will he be the last.
Edit to add. On this, I do wear glasses ........... should have listened to mum many years ago and my vision may be restircted with glasses although I had similar issues prior to glasses
Actually, calling Shovel.
Can or could you please advise of the peripheral vision for JL's helmet?
Is it a standard ?
Thanks man
