Doctored: MotoGP’s Obsession with Valentino Rossi

I've also noticed that they (BTSports) love to mention his age. A lot. But recently it has changed from "37 years old" to "in his 38th year".

Not a Rossi hater, I just get annoyed when one individual gets so much of the attention when there's a number of riders who deserve a lot more of it than they get now.

I was super annoyed by the commentators how they were hoping begging and probably praying for Rossi to go to the pits to change the bike. They look like more frustrated than Rossi's crew.

They were. VR in midpack is bad for viewership, TV commentators need that metric to stay tuned.

If you live in a glass house, don't throw rocks.

I remember the KR Proton team testing ship to shore years ago with Aoki - they didn't like it.

'Valentino you need to put faster laps'
'I am push'ng very 'ard'
'Valentino you need to pit'
'Yeah yeah - very fanny'
'Valentino your tyres are gone, you need to pit'
'Yeah, tell it to Jorge'
'Valentino you're riding on the rims'
'Ehhh justa wan more lap'
'Valentino you're out of gas'...

'....'

Interesting as there is a rule that prohibits the two-way transmission of data between a moving bike and the pits so any rule change would have to be very specific as otherwise the smart teams will find ways to work around any rule.

But the reality for me is a big BOO ....... WHO !!!!

VR has been around longer than any other in that category and chose to not pit when the BOARD came out advising/suggesting that it may be a good action. Now for those that aren't aware the pit board is like a radio in that it passes messages in a code format (ie. BOX) with which the rider is generally familiar, although familiar can possible be over-ruled by ego it seems.

Drivers who have radio communication in their cars are known to disobey, ignore or have 'radio problems' so no level of radio communication will over rider a driven ego that knows better (and this is not just VR that ignored the BOX - Jack Miller even saying 'I am young and cocky so I thought I knew better, I should listen more')

.... it, next he or they will want their teams putting ....... big screens trackside to display their data for them, or perhaps ....... heads up displays.

The answer is to thing.

Oh, and I hate the idea

Rant over, soapbox placed back under the rock

Edit.
Should add that the above is if all of this is genuine (written as I sit shaking my damn head from side to side, soon to be followed up with a facepalm)

During one of the many laps where VR ignored the pit board instructions, he was looking over at it as he came down the start/finish straight. So did everyone else for that matter.

Good luck buddy, hope it works out for you. If we didn't have the 3 kids and elderly parents relying on us, me and the wife would be living over there too.
I do have the consolation of 3 weeks holiday in Florida in August though [emoji1]
