Nakano probably...Honda likes to have a token Japanese rider in the paddock, or they send Dovi to join him and put Nakano on the Repsol squad, and send Spies packing to JiR Scott.

takahashi is the new jap rider next season so i think nakano is expendable.

I would think he would need another year in 250cc, but he is under contract with JiR Scot in that class, but Honda might rush him up.

So the token japanese torch gets passed to a new generation!

Probably the second half of next year as he has to come into terms with the pneumatic engine, which could be a bit painful for a 250 rider (Lorenzo).

Satelite teams will not get the pnumatic valve engine for 2009.

yea they will. nakano only used the spring valve engine to test it with bridgestones, ready for dani to switch. now that dani is gonna be using the pneumatic engine, nakano will also.

bein a big nakano fan and havin yelled when he was fourth in brno overtakin right in front of our noses, i HOPE he can stay!

hes constantly improving, so i think they should keep him!

I always wonder how different things may have been if Shinya had stopped at Kawasaki, would he have been as one with the machine now?

He will be gone moved to the test team. He isn't as good as you hope he is. We will have a new token japanese next year.

Shinya is consistent. If Gresini had a top fiver, a second bike as a top 10 would please the sponsors. All the hating on Nakano is not deserved. Not everyone is in the GP series to win. It's all about pleasing fans and sponsors. Somebody has to run at the back, right?

Nakano gets a ride with HRC, Dovizioso stays put, Spies to Gresini... here's hoping.

What? That is the biggest piece of ........ I have ever read. There are racers who will never win and Nakano is one of them, but don't tell me they are in GP to just be in GP? Not matter the talent, you are there to win. You might never get there, but you try. If Nakano is not trying to win, then he should not be in the series or racing in general. Even Jose Cardoso wanted to score a GP win. He would never in any chance do so, but that is why he was there.

Do Japanese riders in MotoGP suffer the same 'pay rider/driver' characterizations of Japanese drivers in F1? That the only reason they get a ride in the premiere class is b/c they bring in sponsorship funding or mechanical supplies (engines, etc.)?
