Well they have officially ruined the Daytona 200 now.
That race was not just about going to the track and seeing the race. Daytona has enough vendors
and attractions outside the race that you could walk around all day and be entertained.
Mix that in with the superbike race and the 200 and there were not enough hours in the day.
The race is held during bike week so it is almost impossible to even get a hotel within an hour's driving distance.
Most of the people that go to the race are going home after. Having it during the day allows you to do all that and still drive home. I would drive 4 hours up and back on the same day.
Now that's impossible. They don't realize that Daytona is as much of an experience as it is a race.
My favorite day of the year is now gone.

The 200 has been a regular activity for me years. The only good reason for me would be if it were about tire wear. Cooler track possibly longer lasting tires. I still think DMG is run by a bunch of chimps.

He is a clear case of followers and not leaders. Look at the first motogp race this year in Qatar? Oh didn't they just run an F1 race at night. LOL I would bet those morons in DMG think that they are being to clever.

Why not have it at night. The way edmudson is running it we will be able to see then using blinkers and brake lights.

Hooray for safety!

It wouldn't be a bad idea to run the support races at night because they usually run those races
on a thursday during the day when noone is there.
