Congratulations Jorge Lorenzo, Motogp World Champion 2010

Well done Apprentice

Bravo, Lorenzo.

Now you have achieved what Roberts Jr., Hayden and Stoner have achieved before you:

beating Valentino Rossi in a premier class championship.

Outstanding.

You are a great rider, and you are right: those who win are always right.

And, you have not always been lucky...! You had to earn it. 2008 and 2009 were hard enough.

You have been repaid this year.

No fault: Luck is essential for winning anything, anyway.
<

If you are capable enough or lucky enough to win a second title next year,

you'll be the first contender to do so in Rossi's era.

That would put you up there with him, above all others.

Good luck!

Congratulations horegay - as you say "you are the best rider on the whole planet" - baaarrrfff

"Game Over" may be a little premature - especially for fans and sponsors who expect the season to finish

Take the off season and try working on your personality - there you are certainly not a king

Roll on 2011 season

'Positive comments only'. Can you read?

Please go whine in another thread. Thanks

Congrats to Lorenzo and his team.

I think this goes some way in proving that "the wall" or running each ride as a separate team is a winning formula. It lets each team do their thing without interference from the other side.

Too true, three years running now....

Well done once again Mr Lorenzo........and of course crew, not bad for Mr Zilanberg (I think!) second year in-is it?

congrats to jorge
<
the very best this year no doubt!! it´s hard for my to accept it tho!!!
<

i expect some good battles from him and rossi in the last 3 races and next year will be awesome with stoney on the honda , a healthy rossi and pedrosa and spies in the mix!! i can´t wait!!!

to say something positive: he really was VERY strong this year...

I can't even comment on that race! BBC televised 3 lots of forumla 1 from 6am till 3pm and then on the other side was the commonwealth games all ...... day. Well pissed off, it wasn't even on the red button.

I only assumed he had won the championship and heard via a distorted radio that rossi won the race.

I aint got a clue if it was a decent race? Bloody gutted oh well the DVD will be out before christmas hoepfully and i'll be able to see what kind of a celebration he did.

Well done George, here's to a good rest time to chill and then the hard work for next season. And thanks for signing my new top on my birthday weekend, made my week. Think i'd better frame it now
<

Well done again

Very well deserved. He was as dominant as anyone has been when the championship was there to be won.

Came across a recent interview with Lorenzo he gave before his championship winning race.

Snippet of interview courtesy of gpone.com

How would you describe this season?

"It started with an uphill climb. In Qatar it was hard to ride with an injured right hand, but we finished second and that was very encouraging. Jerez was a great race, in Spain, and the one that I liked the most... aside from almost drowning during the celebration! And from there on we won seven more races. Silverstone is where I rode the best. And then there were more difficult moments, like at Aragon. I could always count on support from Yamaha, who gave me a great bike, and we have progressed a lot during the season. We need to enjoy this title and try to win as many races as possible, especially now that we can't lose the championship."

This is what he should have said...

Then at Mugello, Rossi broke his leg & from then on we found things a little easier & we won more races than I think we would have done under normal circumstances. Silverstone is where I rode the best because Valentino wasn't there to put me under any pressure. And then there were more difficult moments, like at Germany, because he came back. I liked it better when he wasn't here.

We need to enjoy this title while it lasts, especially now that Pedrosa is injured & there is no-one left I have to fight with, we can't lose the championship."

The fact of the matter is Lorenzo was the only one to stay on the bike the whole season. Consistency wins championships. With your argument you could say that Schwantz didn't deserve his championship because Rainey crashed.

I am a Rossi fan but i am not denying that lorenzo deserved it!!! So quit hatin

Even though they all could, i don't think many racers would win a title and then say it was possible because all of their competition ...... up. They'd be failing to portray the level of hard work and commitment it takes and disrespect the other riders/teams in the process. It wouldn't do themselves or the sport any good

Its a request, not a demand or a rule. Tell us what you think.

Chops & Talps, the point is the wall is not working for Repsol Honda. Frankly, Stoner has a point. (Despite Stoner making it).

How do you figure that ? Dani despite Retiring from 1 race and a further 2 dnf's this season is in 2nd place on 228pts.

Dove is in 5th despite 2 retirements this season and is on 179pts. 1 point behind 4th place stoner and 2 points behind rossi although rossi as we know missed out because of the leg break. Looks like the wall has worked ok in the HRC garage to me.

The wall is working if their goal is NOT to get a title. It seems they need to change something, don't you think?

Conversely, the wall may have worked at Yamaha, because unlike Repsol Honda, the wall didn't produce alliance to only one rider (this truth can be check against what actually occurred, that is, despite ONE of the Yamaha teammates adamantly demanding preference, which lead to his protest of this reality in the form of leaving the team). In Repsol Honda's case, the wall has been detrimental to the other rider (not the case at Yamaha's handling of such a barrier, which is what would have happened had they gone with Honda's MO of handing a wall).

Congrats to jorgino... Deff whooped some a$$ this season. Let's hope he stays strong for next season and the others can get well too.

Had Dani not had the retirement and dnf'f he may well have sealed the championship, or are you blaming that on the "wall" ? How do you think the wall has prevented an HRC championship this year ?
