Colin Edwards excerpt from Road Racer X

Like him or not i think Colin is exactly the kind of charcter the sport needs. Yes he says some really stupid things, and yes he doesn't seem to back his mouth up on the track but he's entertaining and i'm happy to embrace it.

Texan's already got a bad name and always will have while they swagger around in their over sized vehicles swinging high and wide with their "Everything's bigger and better in Texas attitude" I have always been a CEII fan and probably always will be but I say you can change the name of the state of Texas to:

DUMBFUCKASTAN

Texas is an interesting place and a cultural phenomenon. Obviously, the gross generalizations about what goes on down here and how Texans behave are without merit.

However, Texas is a cultural invitation to spout, spew, and make-up whatever hateful bigotry is currently within the Zeitgeist. Since I live here, I get to go crazy everyday. I pity the people who are only able to indulge in insane ranting when Texas is mentioned in conversation.

Colin should watch what he says when he's NOT in Texas, that's all. Or maybe he should take Texas with him everywhere he goes so people have an opportunity to spew?

It strikes me that Colin is incapable of passing comment these days without making reference to the Toseland/Reynders debacle. I mean God help us all if someone ever made off with Alyssia! Maybe that should be JT's next move.

Well when you think about it the move to JT was a bit underhanded. Colin is a straight shooter and for the most part had the team wanted to make a switch they should have just had a meeting and discussed it with everyone involved. JT needs all he can get and with Colin doing well we need to ETC ETC ETC. That would have been it I think. This is also now part of the reason why I think JT will be gone and you will see Ben Spies in his seat.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Corr @ Apr 29 2009, 11:37 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>There are worst rides than Spies' WSBK Yamaha.

Would a switch (back to supers) to Spies' WSBK Yamaha be a really bad thing?
I'll concede (for this instance) that WSBK is a 'step' down from MotoGP, but what could be worse is that (from CE11 or JT's points of view) they could end up without a ride.

That was a flash thought I had the other day and of course it would be more complicated than that. To say that Spies would stay in WSBK instead of switching to MotoGP is improbable. So he has to apprentice on the Tech 3 team. They are a damn good team. He could hit the podium with that bike no problem and Yamaha would surely sweeten the ride for him. That way they could have a podium full of M1's.

99% agree.

You guys are nuts to think James Toseland will be losing his seat next year. Who in the right mind would ditch a younger, more promising rider over an older underachieving rider who is at the end of his career? Colin had more than enough time to prove his worth in MotoGP...... time for him to hit the road. Yes, right now Toseland is struggling a bit so far, but it has only been 2 races this season. Even if he does get beat by Colin Edwards this year, I doubt the team will get rid of him.

SS, I want some of what you're on!

Ben is not leaving WSBK without winning the championship. He can't win this year.///
The dude loves WSBK, lives on Lake Como, and is even friends with Nori and his family.
He'll be in MotoGP in 2011.
However, we are likely to see him test extensively and perhaps guest ride this year and next.

So your just basing this on youth? OK! Well look at some of the other series that are out there. SBK and Haga is a decent example. AMA and Mat Mladinare another one. HMMM I think your wrong. The experience and the fact that the team would have two like minds and no ........ between the two is a far better example of "team" than what it is at present.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

I'm a bit ...... bored of the whole CE/JT thing.

Surely Colin could (or should) just keep his gob shut and sit on his smug ... in his garage happy in the knowledge that despite getting his own way JT is struggling

He'd get a lot more respect off me for it for a start

You've said your piece Colin - now just get on with yer job and quit bitchin cos frankly, your getting a bit boring

+1 What Baldylocks said. Also surely no rider has enough influence in a team to nick his teammates mechanic when he feels like it?It wasnt just JT that brought the swap about

YEah but had JT had more integrity with the guy coulon situation Colin wouldn't have this problem.

Yeah, it was. Have you not followed this from the beginning or read anything about it?

dunno if you saw the other JT - vs- CE but i actually agree that James appears to have been a little underhand. Colin has every right to be miffed & usually I like his straight talking - no ......... way of life - I just think it's time to move on - let his results do the talking and stop washing dirty laundry in public.

I would like to see James do well - even if it's only cos he's English - I just don't think he can cut the mustard with the top guys (Rossi-Chuppa-Stoner-Pedrobot-Dovi) although I would also LOVE to be proved wrong
