<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>Back in the Grand Prix paddock, I was glad to see Monster Energy come in as a team sponsor. I definitely think, with the economic doom and gloom getting thrown around lately, it's a nice boost for everyone to be part of something like that. As for me, I know there've been some rumors about what'll happen next year. Sure, I'm fighting for results to keep my job, but I've got a long history with Yamaha and am developing a good relationship with Bridgestone as well, so I'm by no means giving anyone a kind of blessing as in, 'Here, come and take my ride.' I'm here to fight.

And hell, I think as far as resumes are concerned, mine's not terrible. You look at things I've done in the past and the things I'm doing now, and I'm wanting to stay, of course. Tech3 owner Herve Poncharal is awesome, and he's got a great team. He needs to get rid of my teammate, but other than that, I think it's working out good for everybody at the moment.

Hah, pretty point blank.. not that you'd expect much less from Colin, but still.. Also this excerpt was from the end of his column, where he was basically talking about Spies and his congratulations etc.. so the not saying "Here, come and take my ride" comment, I take as being in reference to the rumors at Ben's ascension through Tech3..

With results (other than Motegi) like Colin's getting lately, If I was Poncharal, I don't think I'd have any trouble agreeing with him.

Colin is over and done with. I don't care if the guy is a good 'developmental' rider..... that doesn't get you a win in racing. He'll be gone next year..... about time too.

Who would you replace him with? MotoGP already got rid of Necanslow and SuperShitya. We got Takacrashi now, so who would be on your short list to take Collin's seat?

Heh, I was pretty impressed by Aoyama in the 250 race, I wouldn't mind seeing him up there if we're going to stay Japanese, but take Colin's seat? no way.. there's plenty of extra baggage in MotoGP still, Colin wouldn't be first on my list that's for sure.

WEll another glaring example of you not showing .... from a hole in the ground. Colin is better and has been for the most part of his GP career better than Toseland. If Herve wants to get a high ranking rider in like Spies he would be smart to ditch Toseland and get Ben to partner with Colin. Toseland will land Takahashi's ride since his is a major disapointment and that team wants to at least finish a race.

Collin and JT both are great WSBK riders. Moto GP doesn't seem to be suiting them well. They just need factory rides. Sattelite team is suck..

Except for Barros on a Pon Honda..

My Colin Edwards likeability meter has been all over the place for the last few years.
It started out on "Great SBK rider", moved to "...... Texan", moved to "dislike", moved
up a notch to " maybe he's right and I've been wrong about him all along", moved
up another notch to "He's pretty honest I like his swagger" but the last 2 years the needle
has steadily plummeted from "dude talks too much" to shut the .... and actually perform
in a race and finally it has landed on "owner of procative pics between Uccio and Rossi
keeping him in MotoGp.
I can't ...... take this arrogant .... anymore. He's giving Texans a bad name errrrrr
I mean he's acting just like a Texan.
SHUT THE .... UP ABOUT EVERYONE AND PERFORM FOR ONCE ON SUNDAY!!!!!!

After looking at these stats I'm beginning to think that Taka who? shi might just belong

Dude, dude, you had me rolling. hahaha. ....... .....

Colin is for sure a loose cannon when he talks. But I've learned to appreciate it now. I mean, look at Hayden, he's the master gentlemen, even when he got torpedoed by Peders on the cusp of a title, and now with Yuuki under the pressure to perform for Ducati, he still didn't talk ..... But it is frustrating. I mean for once I'd like to hear Nicky say yeah, these ....... children need to learn to use the brakes, ....... .......s! But he hold back. Colin doesn't, and I kinda appreciate it. Its not whining or complaining really, its just good old down to earth telling it like it is without the political correctness. But yeah, I hear you, it can look bad too.

Its funny though, I found myself going through the same likeability meter you speak of. I wasn't or havent really been a fan of Edwards. He actually lost me during an interview in the making of 'The doctor, the tornado, and the kentucky kid'. You may recall, he was talking .... that Nikcy had not won a race yet saying he needed to since he was on a great package. And what happens? Nicky wins Laguna and Colin, runner up. Haha. I disliked him after that and though, ....... .... talker has to eat his words. But since then I've grown to appreciate his candid ways of speaking to the media.

So where is the hate for someone dissing their team-mate?

CE2 stats on the Yamaha...
1. WTF are we supposed to be seeing in Colin's stats?
2. HTF does this relate to Takahashi?

I dunno what we're supposed to be seeing. With the exceptions of 5 retirements and Japan last season every result listed is better than Takahashi's career best. I suspect that's not his point, though. You'd have to go back to 2003 on the born bad Cube to find any races that Edwards actually finished with a worse result that Takahashi's career best.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (gsfan @ Apr 29 2009, 12:42 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>One of them will switch with Spies I'll bet.

There are worst rides than Spies' WSBK Yamaha.

Would a switch (back to supers) to Spies' WSBK Yamaha be a really bad thing?
I'll concede (for this instance) that WSBK is a 'step' down from MotoGP, but what could be worse is that (from CE11 or JT's points of view) they could end up without a ride.

Colin does't beat around the bush

Off topic,
Aoyama and Takahashi should swap seats..............
