Well thats a bummer for rossi because as Im sure you know he never wins the race if he has topped practices or quali.
I didn't mean that the race will be interesting because Rossi will win it.
My thought was that if the Yamaha and Ducaties are there it will be an interesting race.
I couldn’t watch the session, but the times are certainly interesting, both Valentino having the top time by some margin and Dovi and Lorenzo with virtually identical times next. Syahrin put in a worthy time as well.
Rossi was using Soft tires, I didn't see anyone else using them so that can explain the margin between him and 2nd placed rider.
I think Rossi was on new softs whereas others were on worn Medium/Hard.
Let's wait for FP2, will be more representative.

Yeah it seems it was a merchandise type move. There is no rain prediction so I reckon it was for headlines.

His riding style is so flawless. It looks he's on rails! I could watch footage of him riding for hours and never get bored.
It would be rather ironic if Jorge mostly delivered what he was hired for in his remaining tenure at Ducati.
