because that was superbike and he was a championship contender, this is GP and he is barely in the top ten when its dry.

I think Kwaka woulda been a better move personally but who am I to argue.

Dunno how Capo will adapt to not being the top dog in the team after all those years, not that he is at Ducati now anyway. Heh.

Its gonna be tough adapting to Capo in blue after so long. :/

My first reaction was great RDP can stay at Kwaka!

If this is right, it might explain why Suppio was less than enthusiastic about Loris' second place when he was interviewed after the race.

Helix....is there a link to that interview by Suppio, that ur refering to?..or was it on motogp.com after the race? thanks

Did this ever get confirmed or is it just more un-substantiated MCN clap-trap ?

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE<div class='quotemain'>MCN understands Marlboro Ducati’s Loris Capirossi has agreed to join Suzuki's MotoGP team next year.

This will see Italian joining Chris Vermeulen in the Rizla Suzuki squad after the Aussie agreed to stay on for another year.

Stung into action by the loss of John Hopkins to Kawasaki, Suzuki have replaced him with one of the most experienced riders on the grid following the news that he is all-but out at Ducati for 2008, in favour of Marco Melandri.

MCN understands Capirossi has signed a one-year deal to ride the much-improved GSV-R, rejecting a Kawasaki contract and leaving Ducati after a five-year stint to join his third Japanese factory team, after spells with Honda and Yamaha in the 1990s.

Suzuki and Kawasaki have been at odds over the same riders for much of this season, with Kawasaki first showing interest in the three-times world champion early in the season, and last week managing to prise Hopper from Rizla Suzuki for 2008.

Vermeulen is believed to have agreed verbally to stay with Suzuki, despite a late show of interest from Yamaha to ride in 2008.

Talking earlier about his options he said: “A factory team is the best thing for lots of reasons. The budget is bigger, development is quicker and the bike is built around you.

“There’s no number one or two at Suzuki and they treat John and I equally, but he was the senior rider with more experience and most of the stuff was developed around him.

“I feel if I stay at Suzuki I will be the senior rider and that has its positive points. I have spoken to Lin Jarvis of Yamaha. He was interested and wanted to discuss my future and working with Yamaha.

and 4th in this years championship ... he must be a .... rider hey?!

Hopper always seems to be regarded as being better than CV yet to me his results don't stack up - one podium this year! CV has 3 and also a win at Le Mans and is coming fourth in the championship. The next few years will show CV's full potential and I bet it's better than Hoppers!

Agreed, I'm still not convinced about Hopper at all. Chris has got some results under his belt, Hopper has one podium.

And I dont go for this Hopper better in the dry stuff either, wet racing makes it harder for everyone, the fact that CV has got the results in the rain says a hell of a lot about him as a rider.

I think that he and Capirossi will make for a good team. Like Ive said, the "old hand" and the "young gun" is a great combo for any team.

Chris is having a good year for sure, but we know he is a laguna specialist, and i do think the rain races have made his championship standing look better than he is. Maybe he can make it last though, if he can keep laguna momentum and ride faster in the dry from now on in, until that happens i wont be convinced.
