This was social media before Facebook, MySpace, Friendster, and so on.

Back in the good old days (that really weren't good) the internet encouraged social interaction by way of message boards. Then it become a hodgepodge of those, and then the AOL chat room. Ahhh how I miss those days. Nothing better than being a 13 year old sitting there in the middle of the night with .... in hand, asking frantically, "A/S/L?" with the hopes I might snag some virtual ......

Though in retrospect, I wonder how many of those girls, really were girls. :cry:

But anyway, yes this is social media in all it's glory; anonymous .... talking, outright libel, threats, and genuine fun.
