Here is the irony, you point out a guy who calls himself: 'son of doohan' to point out that another guy ('roger-m') is a "fanboy" because of something that he identifies with and roots for. (see what I mean?)

Not trying to pick a fight with either of you (Krust or Doo), just trying to make a point that rang ironically funny when I read this post. Just seems it makes me no more or no less a fanboy than the Nicky Hayden T-.... I have on right now; though I concede, I am a fanboy, I still think I can carry a 50% redeemable opinion about the subject of who I root for. (a few may disagree, but they are just ........ "fanboys."

Surely we are pretty well all fanboys, or we wouldn't bother with the forum. Perhaps there are posters with so broad a view that they are completely dispassionate, but I am certainly not one of them.

Aw ...., Ive got a bass clef tattoo on my arm, I'm a bass fanboy.

This is awesome, if you are a fan of a rider you get dissed on a GP forum for being a fanboy. What the .... is that about? Then Rog gets a telling off fae the "humour" police! I think if we all came on here and made deadly serious posts about who we hated, it would be the only way to keep some folks happy.

Anyway, I'm off to worship my bass.

You have made an assumption there Jumkie (albeit a probable likely one). But, unless you know the bloke personally, maybe he is a son of Doohan (note I didn't say "the") ... there are a few Doohan's in the phone book in this part of the world!

I'm still here .... its just way too early to call for me .... as an example ... my money would have been on Pedrosa .... but at Le Mans .... he didn't impress me at all .... he looked like he did in 07 all over again.

But I do know that at present the current proportional odds for the title are:

Rossi 97

Dani 94

Lorenzo 94

its just that your fanatasism for Rossi makes you think 97 means 970 Rog.

If I have to make a choice this early and "voodoo" coming into it .... my money is still slightly on Pedrosa ....... mainly because ........

Rossi ........ recent history ( last few years ) is to go good early season then fall ...

Yamaha ...... have their new bike .... Honda don't

Stoner doesn't have the advantage of Ducati & Bridgestone tyres this year. His arch rival, Dani Pedrosa, will win the title this year. I anticipate Pedrosa v Lorenzo being the big rivalry of the next couple of seasons.

i love threads like this... so entertaining.
with only 5 races down it's abit to early to put the last nail in stoners championship defense coffin. it's lookin a little bleak for him right now but it's a long season & alot stiil to come.

Actually, I was meaning to imply that even when propounding a conspiracy theory which you think has a kernel of truth you employ irony heavily.

I am warming to some aspects of your argument. I would have thought that saying a control tyre or quasi-control tyre would benefit rossi as the best rider is fairly hard to argue with. It also seems likely that tyres are the difference between stoner this year and last year, since the tc which was apparently the explanation for his speed last year is presumably still in place. I still think that it is far more likely that stoner and ducati have stuffed up rather than been conspired against, and yamaha in particular have obviously made significant advances with this year's bike.
