Burgess interview (on Stoner, Honda and the gearbox) / Casey Interview (on Honda, the move from Duca

count the odds that would come from a rossi fan.
<

What was the clue? The "big" part or the "46" part?
<

Anyway, back on topic, lets not make this into a ... for tat. About the interview, I really do think it was insightful. Aside from the friendly banter, I'd like to get 'Big46's take on what Burgess and Stoner said.

I like that edward, hayden, spies, stoner, they dont really give a .... about the media

Thats a bit of a false statement. Nicky Hayden puts more into his PR than almost any other rider. Now i know he works hard at everything he does but i'd say he's far from not giving a ...., because he sees the big picture. Also Edwards is clearly very fond of the media attention, he is one of the most quotable guys around and he obviously loves for people to listen to him, and to make them laugh.

i can agree with that Tom. casey is really the main guy that is a more "take it or leave it". when he does speak to the media though, it is straight talk, much like spies imo.

A Interview like this i'll hold judgement

it will be .... hot its no where on the net no links no Quotes nothing

me to the quotes dont quite sound rite.....

the gearbox does help, those few hundreds add up corner by corner.... how can being able to shift seemlessly mid corner without loosing torque not be and advantage? if it wasnt why are yamaha trying to build a similar system?

not taking away from honda riders speed but just saying

I agree with this, though Tom, I think Cang meant something else when he said they didn't care about media, in the sense that they straight talk rather than playing things up to the media. Though yes, Edwards is a sound bite machine, and a hilarious one.

haha, big46 you made my day. what exactly is the ........ part in jumkies post and please explain why. i'd really like to hear a well argued point of view instead of the usual one liners.

first of all great post jumkie, i agree totally with you, also i can relate to djm's experiences with other rossi fans. let the racing be the show again, i couldn't agree more

i think motogp is blessed with a great generation of riders at the moment, i hope we can celebrate a new champion named spies instead of simoncelli in the future.no love for the two faced dirty man .

thanks again to cangaceiro for typing it all , it restored some respect i've lost for burgess and i've come to admire stoner ever further.hell, even as a vegetarian the "no hunting with rifles cause its unfair" is impressing to me

I actually think Spies is a bit wiser than Casey in that respect. Ben doesn't talk ...., but he does get on with making his appearances and doing it professionally. Stoner quite openly dislikes doing PR work, and often says things which journalists use against him. I admire his balls for not compromising because it's good for us to see a true character rather than a script, but in the long run riders who play the game reap the benefits, Spies seems to know that.

Yes, you're right, and I think Burgess makes your point too, but he also doesn't think its the silver bullet. That is to say, its not the overwhelming advantage, but rather the entire sum of these is as a whole, chassis, electronics, rider, suspension, etc, is a great package. He said the M1 has a great transmission system too.

AMCN often carries very interesting interviews that are not available on the net, especially with Aussies such as JB. I'm not in Oz currently so I can't guarantee that this is really from AMCN, but TBH, I can't imagine anyone bothering to make up the quotes - they don't seem to point to an agenda.

A few years ago I typed up an AMCN article onto this site, about which I'd not seen anything on the net at the time.

I'd be less disparaging without facts Pige. Maybe another Aussie could confirm or even post up a scan of the article.

Doesn't sound right to me. For one I can't see stoner calling ducati two faced publicly in those words. Jumkie has lapped it all up and used it as confirmation of his theories.

Oh well, I suppose my opinion still stands even without the interview. Ok Cang, you are either never going to post here again while somebody take you seriously, OR Pigsh is loosing his omni-present touch.
<

Well at least you admit to regularly writing bull.

What do I not agree with? Your comments:

I have no doubt Casey is more special than Valentino Rossi

Stoner could have been easily considered the GOAT

I can't wait for MotoGP to return to order, a man's sport, rather than the clown circus its become

Even when Pedro wins, he hasn't been programmed to make these freakish shows (I suppose its enough he is a freak).

Simonchelli is also another showboater, hopefully he won't win anything for us to stomach

If this season goes as I'm hoping, Rossi will not stand to look the ordinary above average rider I've always know he is, and will retire after 2012

When you say something is a load of bull, it generally means you think its a lie, or the truth has been exaggerated. These statements of Jum's are not made on fact, they are his opinion. What he says he thinks is true, as do i.

Maybe Big46 thought that the article and not my take was a "load of bull"?

Biggest load of bull I've ever read, you seem to have pleasure at putting riders down, get a life

how reconfirming, i hope the few people who really thought the gearbox is worth a second per lap and that the honda just suddenly is sooooo much faster than the yamaha read this.

Preziosi reckons Honda's gearbox is worth 0.2 a lap. Yamaha are already working on a quickshift box of their own. I'm doing some analysis of recordings I made during the test, and the Yamaha shifts really quickly, something like a couple of hundredths, the Ducati is four hundredths, haven't got to the Honda yet. It sounded real smooth, the shifts were creamy smooth.

As i said, ill try and find a scanner (maybe at work) so I can post the full interview. I understand that there are alot of people on this forum who won't accept anything that the other has to say, but in this instance, if you don't like the content of the interviews, I cant control that, I did not make this up if that's what you're insinuating. Believe me it would be alot easier for me to just scan this and upload than sit there for ages typing this out so people in the other side of the world could also read this interview, I just dont own a scanner, that's why i requested maybe another aussie could upload, i mean everyone reads AMCN over here, so someone else could do that.

Ill try and get this done at work today so their is some "confirmation" for you by tonight, ok?
