With a name like "Bonnielass" I'd hazard a guess that he is a she, and posibly of Scotish descent.?

Righto now I'm confused .......

"Bonnie" ...... "lass" , ....... two very stereotypifying words for chics from Scotland .....??

but I note you choose the spelling decent, as opposed to my spelling descent ......... is that where my incorrectness lies?

Are you in fact still of Scotish origins, but view yourself as a very "indecent" one?

am I anywhere near right now?

Should I tell you or not?

There is a thread way back on this forum, that explains why a lot of us chose the names we did.

Well I browsed a bit but could not find the thread ...... still entrigued how a "Bonnie ..... Lass" can not be a Scotswoman?

Bonnie's not one to blow her own 'trumpet' - (pun intended) - so I'll give you a major clue here Barry. Let's just say, she used to own a Triumph. Clear now?

Believe it or not I was making a cup of coffee, about 10 minutes ago, and whilst adding the sugar I had a vision of Salt Flats, I then thought Bonniville ..... thence triumph ..... and thought is that it.

I get it then
<

Was it an original, or a "THAI"umph ?

PS. Thank the "living XXXX" you didn't own one of those oddly named little Spanish jobbies from the 70's

HaHa Well done!

It was an oringinal 1972 650cc Bonnie, maroon and ivory, it looked great, I used to ride it everywhere, never managed to ride home on it though! typical Triumph
<
<

I wish I still had it.

P.S I was off trying to find that thread, I still haven't found it!

Nice. There's quite a few of the old Bonnies ( Bonnii?) running around up near my area ( popular motorcycling road just north of Sydney ), theres a fair few of the Thai built Triumphs too. I see an original Maroon and cream Bonnie ( though surely must be resprayed/restored ) regularly. Often with a whole bunch of really well restored BSAs, a really nice Norton and oddly restored XS650 Yam's amongst them.

I'm getting a loaner Super Tenere soon, for a few weeks, I'll be riding a fair bit ( have the run in/sort out duty/luck
<
, before it does a mamoth trip ) I'll try and catch a few photos of the Maroon Bonnie, I'm sure to see it again.

Even restored they still seem to play up, I still hear a fair bit of that ole Triumph sound "PFLUH!" ( that sound they make when you kick them and they just act dead
<
<
) Or perhaps the guys have managed to restore that "typical Triumph" into them as well
