Does seem a little early in the season to announce something that big. I'm waiting till I hear it from The Kropper or Noise.
........ rumour. Too early and no way would any rider jeopardize their season so early by announcing they are shifting to another team.
Ducati can throw as much money as they want at Rossi and no way will he go to Ducati because no way will JB go and no way will Rossi race without JB. If Rossi went to Ducati without JB my respect for him would hit the moon it would be so big.
I still think Stoner will go to HRC.
HRC - Stoner & Dovi
Yamaha - Rossi & Spies
Ducati - Lorenzo & Hayden
Suzuki - Pedrosa & Bautista
Tech3 - DePuniet & ?
We then see all 4 factories at the front because Puig and Dani will set a rocket under Suzuki's arse and they will drag it to the front.

Wouldn't be surprised if this rumour came out of the Rossi garage as a way to .... with Stoner's head in the lead up to the next race!!! It also puts doubt in Ducati's mind and may accentuate the development of the bike more away from Stoner preferences as already seems to be happening.

And why would they need to do that. I doubt there worried about him this season. Well not yet anyway.
It was said mainly in jest Rog which is really all this rumour is worth but it is MotoGP and it is Rossi. Beating your opponent on and off the track is what it is all about!
Rossi is not stupid nor does he carry the bias that us fans do. Rossi would be looking to cover any threat and it is foolish to suggest Stoner is no threat.

Rossi only needs to peak over the partition in the Yamaha garage to see the threat to his title. Stoner is not out of it yet, but even this early in the season,he has to run off 3-4 races where he scores ahead of Rossi and Lorenzo. I still have this terrible feeling that the engine rule is going to play a huge part in this years championship. Can you imagine if Stoner fought his way back to within 5 points of the championship and in the last race of the season had to start from the rear of the field because of an engine swap. As a fan, that scenario would tempt me to wash my hands of the sport.

Here's the modified rule for Engine penalty
The penalty for infringement to the engine durability rules in MotoGP (6 engines per season) before the race has been amended as follows:
– The rider will start the race from the Pit Lane 10 seconds (instead of 20 seconds) after the start of the race.
It's not Jorge's place to confirm the rumour of Casey's move, anyway, so he did the right thing of saying it's 'just' a rumour (for now).
I really don't see Rossi moving to F1. There are loads more talented drivers that Ferrari can hire for less.

why are you saying jerry burgess wont want another move..? is there a reason for him not to go to ducati?
He was going to retire after Doohan but then hung around because of Rossi. He didn't want to go to Yamaha but Rossi talked him into it. He has said a number of times late last season that he will not switch again and will retire as soon as Rossi does. JB has more success than any other person on pit lane. 7 championships with Rossi, 5 with Doohan and 1 with Gardner. He has nothing left to prove.
yes, you are right, but i dont see rossi going without him. maybe he can convince him to stay a bit longer. i also believe they will retire together.
