Bayliss to Race Pramac Ducati at Mugello

With Loris badly injured and about to retire, the rumor seems to have some truth to it. I'd really love to see Troy back on the Desmo at a track he knows and has been testing on. Can anyone confirm this?

Agree - but would you really want to see the great man subjected to the the ignominy of doing so on the Pramac Ducati? I'd rather the memory of the perfect ride at Valencia '06 - the last appearance of the 990 and Troy's curtain call for the Desmosedici remained unsullied by a ...... wild card offer for an also ran team.

Bayliss is never going to race MotoGP again. Why would he want to tour around at the back on a bike that Hayden, Rossi et al couldn't master? The only thing he might race is the new 1200 in WSBK next year.

This rumor turns up every time a Ducati rider gets injured. It's wishful thinking.

He has said on numerous occasions that the win in 2006 was the perfect footnote/exclamation mark or whatever on his motogp career and could never be topped.

I don't think Troy would be that silly. Hopefully he doesn't need the cash, ducati would be better off giving one a break and save any more lapping.......

Troy stay out of the Duc's jinks...if you know what is good for you heheee..start riding a Honda

I don't see it happening, he could wildcard any bike on the grid and still wouldn't realistically be near the podium, he has very little to gain and not much to lose. I don't see Bayliss returning to racing and if he was to do so i think he would do it properley, with a top end bike, proper support and plenty of practice/preperation. He is no fool

Rossi wouldn't want(allow) this.

He's had enough of people comparing his perfomance(lack of) on the Ducati to how some Australian rode it.

Needs that like a hole in the bum of his leathers.

This has been a very entertaining thread guys. You all had good takes.

Clarky, where did you get this info man? Spill the beans.

Didn't one of the Ducati head honchos once say that "to win Ducati it seems that we must have an Aussie rider". ........ ?

If so I would like to suggest that if they want someone to go better than Rossi, then they need Adriana ........ or if she wont go , then maybe Mrs Bayliss, surely Troy is doing the stay at home dad thing now ( getting the kids off to school and making the lunches etc. ) so Mrs Bayliss might be looking for a job that suits "Mrs Breadwinner" .....
