bautista to suzuki

Apologies here but how can a bike not be 'as bad as everyone makes out' at a company that you then say has a 'slow development pace' yet the riders are to blame for poor performance?

The riders can only produce results on the machine they are given and where development of that bike is at a 'slow development pace' that then means that each and every week those riders are falling further behind because of slow development. Yet, you say the riders aren't motivated and feel them to be the main problem, nope, the main problem is the 'slow development pace'.

If you genuinely feel that Bautista or another young rider will give the factory/team the kick than well and good and I do hope something along those lines happens. Alternately a younger rider may not be brave enough to go public with their concerns and make the veiled threats of Capirex and Vermuelen and may instead have their careers ruined by the manufacturer.

And if Suzuki are demanding that he honour an agreement that he signed while expecting Asper to be the team manager and the rules change under his feet disallowing him to ride factory unless it is Suzuki...man he might not risk much at all just to get through the year.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Traverser @ Aug 12 2009, 10:17 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>What do you f-n expect? Currently Suzuki's are the biggest joke now that there is no green bikes! Chris or Loris deserve JT's seat more than anyone else (including any SBKer- well maybe not Spies). Lack of motivation should not even be allowed in the same sentience with these two riders!!! Both have always givin 100% even on the heaps of junk that they have to race. You need to follow the whole grid and not just the front runners.
well said trav!

CV and loris have said that the development of the bike is slow, too slow to keep pace with the others and they whilst improving are not improving as fast as everyone else. however, new people are in place higher up the food chain @ suzuki and they hope this means an accelerated response to bike development.

he is also looking beyond suzuki for next year with the bautista rumours gathering pace.

Stick Casey Stoner on the Suzuki, if they reackon its got savage power then we will see what a rider could do.

Funny also that MM comented says that he thought the Kawk was also a very good bike!!

Seems with a proper delevopment programme and good riders the KAW and SUZUKI would be very competative bike IMO

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Austin @ Aug 13 2009, 01:09 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>I get the feeling there is a lot of animosity between CV and the Suzuki team. I think he has tremendous talent and has showcased that at select rounds when conditions level the playing field a bit and the Suzuki just never came good for him. That being said, I'm not I'm 100 percent behind his developmental capabilities.

I think it's more likely he goes back to WSBK and picks up where he left off, fighting for a championship.

i know its not motogp but do you remember this?

CV first contested WSB on a ten kate fireblade in 2004. HRC had won the title with CEII the previous year on a SP2. in 2004 wsb went to single tyre supplier pirelli and because of this, HRC pulled all factory support for the series.
so, CV and Ten Kate started on a virtually stock cbr1000 with absolutely no data from previous years. the only plus was that CV had raced most of the tracks already the previous year in WSS.
so. by the end of the 2004 season, he and TK had managed to get into a position to be able to win races and the season if other results had gone their way, it didnt happen but thats racing.

then, in 2005, the GSX-RK5 hit the world race tracks and blew away almost everyone. the ten kate honda and CV were the only ones able to keep in touch with troy corser and it again came down to the last round of the season where due to pissing rain and a flooded track, CV conceded to troy because he had said it was to dangerous to ride. not bad for what was a satellite team and bike that was developed by CV and Ronald Ten Kate. yes, TK is a genius with hondas but remember that there was no factory support for them at all and it was a singlew bike team in 2004 to boot!

^ it may look like i am a CV fanboy, not true, i just like to set the record straight where i can and will do so for any rider who i feel has been slighted/underestimated.
i just hope that he does get an opportunity to show us all what he is capable of before we write him off as "another WSB rider who couldnt cut it...."

During the last round of 2005, am I right in thinking Vermeulen was leading one of the races before his chain broke?

If Suzuki's main problem is lousy electronics think what limiting electronics could do for motogp...it would suck.

Only problem is, they rarely show the mid pack fights that are going on. I was watching BSB this past weekend and I had this realization how damn great that coverage is. They are constantly showing battles throughout the pack. Absolutely brilliant for the sponsors. On that note, Jack Burnicle is amazing at using the full team names to drop in more sponsorship plugs.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Keshav @ Aug 12 2009, 08:31 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Hector Barbera on a Ducati. That ought to be good for some comic relief.

If he'd been born in the USA he'd of ended up working as a rodeo clown.
Barbera in GP, I have been hoping and hoping this day never happens. The guy is a loose cannon. I will admit though this current season he seems to have his head on straight at the moment, but all he needs is a wild Simoncelli to block pass him and the clown will come back out.

True it would even things up. They stick with Mitsubushi for some reason while the winners are with Magneti Marelli.

Speaking of coverage I saw the F1 in Brno on Fox Sports. If you want to see great coverage Fox knocked my soxs off! All I can say is it is a totally different level with fantastic camera work and in depth pre-race stuff. We can only dream.

Exactly. Maybe they could get discouraged but I doubt they are KJring it...I mean sandbagging. Anyway you look at it the main factor is lack of factory involvement. It's like they have to email Mars to get a bike update.
