NOT HAPPY

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>A long freight train of riders battled for the top spot (at least once a safety car erased a three-second advantage held by Erion Honda's Jake Zemke in the early going)...

... on lap 15 and immediately ripped open a small gap. Roger Hayden, in a remarkable return to action for the Monster Energy Attack Kawasaki squad, came through with the former Spanish Supersport champ and looked set to make it a two-rider showdown during the contest's the final few laps. However, a red flag thrown while the leaders were working lap 18 of a scheduled 20 ended the race prematurely, handing Cardenas the victory.

I was hoping I'd never see the day reckless-out of control rider cardenas would get a win, I suppose its fitting that his 1st win comes under this kind of stupid situation.

SAFETY CAR! enough said.

Yeah, but now that he has a series lead to protect, maybe he won't be quite so anxious to throw his bike into other people.

You give him too much credit. He should have had his race license revoke last year. Thing is he is the altar boy of somebody at roadracingworld, so he is protected. You can't log on to their site without seeing his stupid mug. Geez, can it be anymore obvious.

I just got to watch the Fontana DSB race 2.
Cardenas looked pretty strong so I'm not surprised he took the win though I'm pretty sure that it would be a cold day in hell before Roger let Cardenas beat him without safety car issues.
I guess Eslick taking third will put Povol's slew of DMG sucks posts on hold for a little while
or at least until tomorrow's race.
Did you see the TV schedule for Road Atlanta. There will be 4 seperate telecasts held over a 4 week period. One race will be shown per week. So we will see the last race May 2nd or so.

Strong? Is that the new word for 'reckless'?
<
<
, I just watched Fontana 2, take a look again Johnny, you will see cardenas do about 4 hair raising mistakes. The ....... guy riders way over his head putting everyone around him in danger. Every race I have ever seen him compete in since 07, he has been a menace. He's a ....... bonehead. If you have a chance, take a look at his Road Atlanta performance from last year. Oh, and that was followed by his torpedo at Fontana last year. I guess he needs to paralyze or kill somebody before they consider any action on the baboon.

It's hard to tell what's reckless and what's not on that track. There are multiple lines
for a number of the corners so there are a lot of guys converging on the same space
from completely different places. If Cardenas was dangerous than you might as well
lump Josh Herrin in there as well. They both were all over the place.
That was a pretty good race. A lot of passing. At least 4 or 5 guys held 2nd place
for a while. Disalvo is either getting real lucky or being smarter than everyone else
this year. He was nowhere to be seen in Daytona and Fontana but then ends up on the podium.

Agree, Herrin made some close moves, but Cardenas is consistently out of control. That is, he attempts moves that are clear done while he is not in control of the situation, where as Herrin is more like forcing the issue. And yeah, DiSalvo was the magic rabbit, comes out of the hat and everybody was surprised. Good point bro. Hey, did you happen to make it out to the race? Did anybody here on the thread attend Road Atlanta?

I kept my word and boycotted but a few of my friends still went. They had a good time, thats a given when you get out away from the wife and get to kick up your heels a little. They said the racing is pitiful. Without Spies to take it to Mladin, its even more predictable than before but we knew that going in,most of us anyway. Crowd was decidedly down over past years. One good sign for DMG is that most race fans dont know their ... from a hole in the ground and had no idea as to what was going on with DSB and Buell. They just wanted to know why that black and yeller bike sounds so ....... different than them others

DSB is obviously less than stellar, but to be honest with you, I'm very encouraged about superbike. If Honda find a good #2 rider (maybe they can poach one from the Suzuki stable) and they bring a factory effort next year, I think the racing could get really good. Even more encouraging are Yamaha's prospects. They are racing an brand new 2009 bike with very little development. Many WSBK technologies will make their way to 3rd party parts manufacturers and then onto the eligible equipment list.

Start with 6 or 7 strong Suzukis, add 2 factory Hondas, 2 factory Yamahas, and maybe another talented rider at Foremost Ducati. Bake for 1 season and enjoy.

Btw did anyone notice that coolness is already happening. Taylor Knapp has his own team. He races a Buell in DSB and a GSXR-1000 in SBK.

Smart guy.

Suzuki kicking ... with last years bike. What more can you say? Next race the new machine hits. Should be interesting.

Oh really? Well did you notice Mladin's bike for sale? 59K. What does this say to you Lex?

This is what it says to me, hey everybody, you can by a superbike for dirt cheap (WSBK bikes cost 100++K) and race against me on the same bike. This way DMG can shut the hell up about that its the bike.

I'm not encouraged, while Mladin is in town he will continue to rack up every win and title. Good for him, bad for racing. Its a bit like having Rossi in your national series. Go play with the big boys already.

You want Mladin to leave? You're worse than RE.
<

Seriously, what's wrong with using the purse, equipment parity, and reduced costs to entice foreign riders to join Mladin in the AMA?

First things first, go after every WSBK Kawasaki rider, you know they can't be happy. Then go after the BSB talent left behind after the fallout. It would be nice to add Ellison back to the roster, he's married to an American anyway.

I'v come to the conclusion that they love their ride. There is little pressure as the bike is terrible, and they probably are getting paid better than most other riders.

What's wrong with BSB? I know Ducati pulled out, but other than that, it is the main feeder outside GP and WSS to World Superbike.

I thought moto racers were passionate competitors who never thought about money

Ditto, That one was good.. Supersport the last few years, and Daytona SportBike now have always made for good racing.. you really never know what's going to happen..

I was cheering on Jake, then Roger, then Herrin, then why not Aquino, then Herrin.. oh the rollercoaster.. that was good.. let's get some weight on that Buell though eh? I've been a fan of Eslick's since i think 06 when he was on the yellow 69 Suzuki hangin it out for turn 2 at laguna.. and hat's off to him for his riding but come on..

Anyway good stuff, I just wouldn't have minded it a few weeks ago
