Strange post, you didn't mention whether you liked Stoner or not?
<

Interesting that Pedrosa is the only one making the Michelin work here. Nicky, also said he can't find anything thats working yet. Looks like the battle for 2nd in the championship is going to tighten up.

Tomorrows sessions will be interesting, 7 Bridgestone runners within 3 tenths of one another, one Michelin rider making it happen. Just a little one sided. Pedrosa is quick, but will the tyres hold out for 24 laps, if he has to battle on the brakes can he make the passes stick? Hopkins won't have a problem throwing it up the inside any chance he gets.

Pedrosa definitely has the best pace, quite a few low 1:48's and 2 1:47's.

Im a fan of Gp and all the riders but Hayden is my favorite.I will be just as happy for Stoner when he wins the title as i would anyone else.As far as Pedrosa the only one making the Michelin work, could this be his small stature coming into play, his riding style,or setup. At this point i dont even think they know why.

I dunno, Honda have really sorted the braking out on the RCV especially for Dani and Motegi needs plenty.

yeah stoner got pushed off by checa!!!

Checa is on a demolition derby!!!

i was disappointed in stoners childish behavior, not what i would expect from a future world champ , after all it was only free practice and the session had only just started. what a pre madona.

in a punch up, i would put my money on checa, not pretty boy moaner.

what a great mental image

I say lets give him a break for now.He is uder tremedous pressure to get this championship over and done with. Can you imagine being the guy that is going to break a 30 plus year strangle hold that the Japanese have held on Gp at his age.Now if he continues with the antics in the future,we will roast his ... but good.Im sure every little sound and every little wiggle is freaking his ... out at this point and every slight move that doesnt look quite right by the competition is a potential crash that could knock him out for the season.Remember last year, crazy stuff can happen. This is big time .... and he is feeling the pressure.

I know it's early in the weekend but it looks to me judging from last week to this week that the other manufacturers are getting closer if not ahead of the Ducati.
The last 4 weeks should be interesting if this is the case and Casey's results will finally settle the man or bike question.

You people have some real problems and the moderating leaves a lot to be desired. I've never seen so much my rider is better than your rider crap anywhere over the net.

Have fun I'm out of here.

and if casey wins say 2 of the remaining 4 rounds will it then put an end to "its the bike not rider"? or will it still be the bike??

you cant win, if stoner wins by 10 seconds then its all the bike, but if he only wins but 1 second then its "even though hes on the best bike he doesnt do much and is rossi was on a ducti he would of won easily"

casey should just start toying with them, let them lead for 10 laps thens aniliate them

hes done it consistantly for the entire season. not finishing worse than 5th all season. and bear in mind the other ducatis have hardly ever seen a top 5 position. maybe loris a couple of times??

It's so funny how quickly things can change. I guess the cream always rises to the top!

Stoner & Rossi - 1 & 2, with 20 minutes of FP3 to go.

Looks like it will be a great battle between the two!

The surprise packet for me so far has been Akiyoshi. He has been consistent so far in all sessions!

I hope he keeps it upright tomorrow ... he might be a dark horse for the podium!

That said, Yanagawa and Ito are really struggling ... I would have thought they would be quicker given how many laps og Motegi they would have done over the years!

Jerry and Valentino have obviously changed something for the better!

The Factory Honda is really looking like a weapon now & Pedrosa & Hayden both keep having a higher top speed than the twon factory Ducati's!

Definitely looks like Stoner's bike advantage has been completely lost.

What did they put on those honda's in the last few laps? They came out and blew the rest away! Michelin's top 3 - seems like they've really done something in the last few weeks.

The 2 Repsols are in the top three but they really only ran 3 or 4 laps in the 1.47's at the end of the session.
I wonder if they found a tire late in the session.
The first 45 minutes of QP will tell us.

As far as man vs bike if Casey doesn't finish strong there will be some serious questions asked.
I'm not doggin the kid because I feel he would be a top 5 guy every week but leading every session by 1/2 a second and 10 second check outs in races every week is a bit telling.
.... even Rossi was never that good.

Free Practice 3

1 Dani PEDROSA 1'47.155
2 Valentino ROSSI 1'47.438
3 Nicky HAYDEN 1'47.597
4 Casey STONER 1'47.611
5 Randy DE PUNIET 1'47.690
6 John HOPKINS 1'48.024
7 Marco MELANDRI 1'48.058
8 Makoto TAMADA 1'48.144
9 Kousuke AKIYOSHI 1'48.189
10 Sylvain GUINTOLI 1'48.228
11 Colin EDWARDS 1'48.232
12 Carlos CHECA 1'48.361
13 Shinya NAKANO 1'48.562
14 Chris VERMEULEN 1'48.599
15 Alex BARROS 1'48.599
16 Toni ELIAS 1'48.614
17 Loris CAPIROSSI 1'48.670
18 Anthony WEST 1'48.709
19 Akira YANAGAWA 1'49.435
20 Kurtis ROBERTS 1'50.044
21 Shinichi ITO 1'50.270

Air 31C
Ground 40C

Bridgestone will be pissed if Michelin walk over them on their home track. Akiyoshi is definitely impressing, Stoner has found his speed and is right back in it.

With all due respect Johnny, Stoner has already proved that he can beat anyone in equal equipment when he smashed the competition by over 11 seconds in an extremely wet Donington earlier this year.

You have to remember that realistically Rossi has underperformed this year. He can't use the tyre as an excuse when other Michelin riders are flying ahead of him, & he can't use his bike as an excuse when his team mate finishes on the podium (Donington). Casey on the othe hand, has absolutely & categorically SMASHED all other Bridgestone & Ducati riders all year. If he doesn't win tomorrow you could almost put your house on the fact that he will finish as the number 1 Bridgestone runner. Whereas throught this year, Rossi has not always been the top perferming Michelin rider.

& yeah I agree with you on the Honda's....they were nowhere until the last few minutes! Michelin Qualy tyres are better so it's looking like it will be a Repsol Honda or Rossi Pole!
