Nasty bunch of crashes today. Not quite what I was expecting for the opening day of testing.

FQ looking good out of the gate, but I'm not sure how much that tells us about where the Yamaha actually is since the rest of their riders are not anywhere near him.

MM quite fast already on a circuit he isn't known for getting around as well as others on the calendar.

Dammit Marc, you are making me not want to hate Ducati.
I'm in the same dilemma. It'll be so weird to root for the red bikes.
I'd love to see Marc winning the championship but in the interest of the sport I hope the other maniac get at least a few wins and podiums along the way.

Also, if they continue like this there will be less than 10 riders on the grid at Buriram.
Jörg had the worst start to the year possible. I hope he's at least fit in time for the first GP of the year.

It appears that the track has no grip so ,they have to use the soft, but they don't have enough of them, making them use the medium that's too hard. causing the crash's.

The speculation is that Martin will miss all of the preseason testing and possibly the first race. That means no time to adapt to the bike before racing, a bit like Morbidelli 2024. Aprilia don't know why Martin crashed (both crashes) as there's nothing in the data, They are wondering about the tyre, the same one was on for both crashes.

Miller and Olivera seem to have adapted to the Yamaha

Yeah there is a blame game going on between Aprilia and Michelin. Im not sure who else was on the Medium compound but it's interesting to me that Martin had 2 similar crashes in close succession.

Remember when he said "the front grip is amazing" in Barcelona? I seem to recall comments from both Vinales and Oliveria last yr said the Aprilia has a habit of being too pointy. Could be something.

Also, embarrassingly. It has been confirmed that Diggia crashed and broke his collarbone......while doing a wheelie.

Blame the tires blame the bike blame the grip on the track just don't blame the rider pushing too hard on a low grip track. Nothing to prove by throwing down a qualifying lap testing day 1. Unless of course you are trying to dethrone the goat of testing.

Day 2 results. Marquez had a lowside at T9 near the end of the day while going for a time attack. Bagnaia also had a low speed crash at the final turn also.

Quartararo and Mir still looking competitive. But then it is only testing.
