I expect MM to be strong tomorrow, especially if it's wet. Ditto Zarco and other wet weather riders. With MM so far ahead of Pol, I think it shows both how good MM feels and wtf has Pol been doing all year. Fabio wasting emotion worrying about Marini following him. Note to anybody around Fabs: tell him to stfu and ride. Gesticulating on track doesn't get you anywhere except to let your competition know how to get to you. Things that MM never does. Fabio, learn from MM if you want to take his place. Interestingly, Fabs teammate seems to be improving.

Pol has never been very good, and I am sure the bike remains difficult to ride. There was some discussion from the commentary team, which probably goes back to the discussion here about the previous race in regard to riders needing the bikes to be set up. that MM is (obviously) the best among the few riders who can ride around problems. Puig said pretty much the same, that what MM finds problematic with the bike are the same as the other riders, it is just that he can ride around them. .

Not looking good for a motoGP race. Moto2 they gave up on. It is a tropical, torrential downpour there :(

Well, it was a race. Zarco already getting a lot of heat on the web for not overtaking Pecco. We have a championship lads.

I thought that was actually a good race. Lots on display. Strong wet weather performances from a lot of people not named Fabio. Happy for Oliviera, he deserved that. KTM will probably regret letting him go. Miller as well, coming in at the end of the season. I’m liking him more and more as a rider and a bloke. Zarco, just a little too little and too late. Respectable job from MM. Amazing that only one rider crashed and it was his first dnf.

I think he woulda if he coulda. That little tussle to get by MM likely took whatever life was left out of his tires on a drying line.

Then again, maybe he wants to stay with Ducati, even on the satellite team….. intrigue intrigue.

From Aprilia:

ALEIX ESPARGARÓ
"I was competitive today. I had a good pace and I managed to make up a lot of positions. Then there was the contact with Brad which I personally feel was a normal racing situation since I was already alongside him on the straight going into the corner on the inside (to his right). That cost me an eternal long-lap penalty and then I kept pushing but I couldn’t do any better than eleventh. Anyway, we’re leaving Buriram with multiple positive points. First of all, I’m headed home to my family and I’ll be able to prepare as best as possible for the upcoming races on two circuits where we’ll have fun. Then there’s the fact that we closed the gap behind Fabio who, as championship leader, is still the man to beat."

MAVERICK VIÑALES
"In the early laps, visibility was truly reduced to a minimum. I did the straight practically without seeing anything! In any case, the feeling today was really good. I recuperated a lot of positions and I’m confident that, with better qualifiers, I would have been a podium contender. Anyway, the important thing is that we learn from these weekends. This morning in the dry we took a step forward in terms of setup although I don’t think it would have been enough to be competitive the way we were in the wet."

From Ducati:

Jack Miller (#43 Ducati Lenovo Team) - 2nd

"With these conditions, the race felt really long, and in addition to managing my pace, I also had to be very careful not to make any mistakes. When Oliveira passed me, I kept pushing hard to catch and pass him. I wanted to try on the last lap, but I made a small mistake with four corners to go, and he was really strong in the last sector. Anyway, I am happy to be on the podium again: the bike is working better and better, and the team is doing an incredible job. In addition, Pecco is now only 2 points behind the leader in the standings, and the fight for the title is getting more and more open. It was a really good day for the whole team, and I would be thrilled if we could bring the title back to Bologna. Now I can't wait to finally return home to race in front of my family in Phillip Island."

Francesco Bagnaia (#63 Ducati Lenovo Team) - 3rd
"I am thrilled with this third place. It was a long and very intense race. I knew my potential in the wet was this and not the one shown in Japan. From the beginning, I tried to push, trying to lose as little ground as possible, but it was not easy. By the end, the front tyre was gone, and the riders behind were getting closer and closer, but in the end, we made it. We are two points behind Quartararo in the Championship, so the next three races will be really decisive."
