Well I am afraid to say but I think the riders after 1st have not only missed the bus, they've seen it vanish in the distance.
My reasoning is that regardless of who wins MM will win if he just trundles in 3rd at every race and I'm sure he knows it. Why risk taking on Dovi or Jorge and maybe coming off, nobody can catch him now.
I know what I'd do and he's proven that he's very mature these days.

I don't think Marquez could ever trundle around looking at 3rd places no matter how far ahead he is in the title race,he's a racer who wants to go for victories in the heat of a battle,to some extent he would keep an eye on the points situation but i couldn't see him coasting for the rest of the season and i hope not too.

I think he will have races mapped out that he plans on winning like this weekend in Aragon and PI where Ducatis strong points aren't as outstanding. For the rest of the races I see him aiming for the podium until the championships done and then I think he goes for the win for the rest of the season. 67 points is a hell of a buffer.

I agree.

He is nothing if not bloody minded. I think he is making a deliberate point after his early season disqualification, much as he did by racing as he did at Sepang 2015 after accusations made at a certain press conference, and won’t be trying anything spectacular or taking any risks at least until the title is signed, sealed and delivered; he pretty much said after the DQ that if they wanted prosaic racing from him he would give it to them.

You're probably right but at the same time he knows he can not win every race, especially with these Michelin tires.

2015 taught him a 3rd place is way better than a crash.

You are right if he's leading then he'll go for it, but with those ducati's doing so much better at the moment I think he will settle for 3rd place if they pull away.

6 races left and the title is done and dusted,so for next year Dovi will be a threat on the Ducati, can't see Petrucci doing anything on the other one,Rossi isn't gonna do anything on the Yamaha, maybe Vinales could if Yamaha sort the bike and build it around him instead of pandering to his team mate, how long will Lorenzo take to come to terms with another bike change?,nobody else can challenge Marquez for another dominant season in my opinion.

A pretty amazing statement if you think on it. Couldn't imagine someone saying that 10 years ago.

But it’s pretty much a fact that right now, the Duc has the strongest package. It does three of the four things needed , braking, acceleration and top speed better than any bike on he grid .

Yes, maybe it is, but MM is the dominant rider after the duc's and they weren't so hot until the change in the aero package and fuel tank. I also wonder about the tyres have they been chaged a bit?

I suspect tires are more an art than a science, which would partly explain Michelin's lack of consistency. As to aero - remember, everybody has it. Ducati just lead the way.

I never thought of Puig as a smart fella, but Ducati replacing Lorenzo with Petrucci seems like a masterstroke by him.

Thank god wings are banned from next year. It'll be good to see Lorenzo with an I eat lemons for breakfast face again.
