2015 Red Bull Indianapolis GP

Absolutely spot on Pov. It was great seeing u. The people of Indy host a 750K event each year, hosting the GP shows they have made the best of their knowledge. I can't say one bad thing about this weekend except wishing others would have seen it for themselves. I dont know why I had forgot it was so good actually, but then again I wasn't exactly sober the last two times.

It was good shooting the .... with you over lemonade. You look good man, much younger than a few years ago. I agree with u about Nicky, though that bloke we met with the tattoo will probably be as bummed as I will if this was his last race. It wont stop me from returning though.

The only thing I disagree with you about is Austin. Its a world class venue, and the party and ambience is top notch. The owners may be dicks, but I got over that with 2 dollar beers and 23 year old friendly college chicks downtown.

I think the resurfacing was key. I haven't watched the interviews so I dont know the riders opinions, but I remember they hated it for being slippery. Ben Spies said, when he rode the new paving, the new surfaces was fantastic. Says a lot about a place that would spend millions to please a bunch of guys who should ride to the track instead of complaining about its challenges.

I had one of the best visits to a race track anywhere. I really was surprised and impressed. We all know the track isn't the best, but the overall organization of the event was great.

Other positives:-
Hanging out with Povol

Negatives:-
Lack of Texan college chicks
Sharing a bed with Jum

I must say the atmosphere & people at Indy were spectacular. I really enjoyed it both off the track & on.

However, as far as watching & enjoying the race I prefer Austin. Had a ....... blast there too.

Stoked to have visited 2 races this year in the states. Excited to see the outcome of the championship.

Also, I never realized how skinny Redding is! Encountered him at a pub Sunday. Friendly as .....

Stellar quick weekend all around.

Sweetheart all these dudes are skinny as hell. The Moto3 guys wear lead in their shoes to keep them from flying away. Crap, that would have been cool to be there. Redding is a top bloke. Not quite living up to my expectations but oh well.

Its a shame they don't go to Laguna, I would have loved to host Mike & Heidi.

You're such a ....... .....

So does anyone have any experiences with Paddock Passes in Austin? If Indy returns next year, we will definitely go to that race, but if not, I'm curious how Austin compares. We had such a great experience this weekend that I'm not sure how anything can top it at this point... unless we got to have dinner with VR himself. :)

The guy that won the moto3 race had to put 11 kms on his bike to meet the minimum weight requirements.
He fattened up, he's down to 5 kms ballast now.

How about passes and dinner with Bradley Smith and Cal Crutchlow? For a price, I think Shovelhead can arrange that. No really.

Hmm... that could be fun too. You know, the thing that surprised me the most about meeting some of the riders that we did was how quiet they all were! Anyone else experience this? I really expected Marquez and Rossi, especially, to be chattier and more outgoing, but they barely said a word when doing autographs. They were both friendly and smiled a lot, but just weren't quite as personable as I thought...

Perhaps they were just a bit shy. They probably haven't signed many autographs before and wanted to make sure they got it right. Probably really concentrating on giving you a good quality signature

You really aren't following, are you? wasn't trying to "blast" you as you put it, I called you a ...... cf Gaz's prior post. As it was totally redundant for me to do so, this was admittedly a tad lame.

How long are you going to whine about Stoner in his retirement btw? At this rate you are nearly half way to whining about him after his retirement for longer than his premier class career.

I preferred Austin. Although I didn't have my own paddock pass at Indy so I didn't get to wander around as much. I will say fans were more insane at Austin. Rossi would be flying to his garage on a scooter & legit people would jump in front of him so he would stop to take a picture. Views of the track are top notch & they actually have screens big enough for you to see. Plus the tower is amazing!
