Your New Nickname For Dovi

Its a rather fiesty forum this one isn't it...

This is quite civilised when compared to years past where we would have some awesome debates that felt like the good old pub style of debate where you are waiting for the punches to be thrown only for the guys involved to ask - is it my shout or yours, as it was only debate and piss taking.

There are always people who pop-in that present in a manner that, well quite frankly does not fit within a forum, some stay despite the perceptions and others move on, few hang around purely to try to attack an individual or to try to 'destroy' the ambience of the forum.

Sounds like this could be an interesting place to hang out and learn a bit more about the world of motorcycle racing....and karts

Okay, I'm still new here but please tell me this isn't going to devolve into another Crash.net. That place was ridiculous.

Also, racing Karts would be cool as hell. ;)

It won't. As others have said, it gets feisty here sometimes, usually flame wars from trolls who have been butthurt in the past under different alias' and sole intention is to troll. Most of the time we don't bite, but in this case I had to set the record straight.

Thanks, I certainly enjoy it. The problem is most in the know thing karts are like the rental ones at your local theme park. The gearbox (or shifter in the US) classes I run in are mental, with speeds of up to 150mph.

I've owned many, many karts. I still have my first first one hanging on my garage wall. I sold my 250 superkart some time ago as it just became too much to maintain so I stepped back down to 125, here is my current baby:

We do our level best to keep this forum from getting infected with that kind of crap. It's been bad at times, and I admit getting caught up in it. But the forum has always bounced back. Just don't feed the trolls. For the record, I love Karts. My dad raced them years ago when I was a kid. He built the frame himself and it had twin Tecumsa engines, and was seriously fast for the time. In '88 I went down to Daytona to crew for a buddy of mine who raced AMA Camel Pro in the Daytona 200. We were pitted right next to Mike Baldwin a fellow AAMRR racer. At night to blow off steam we would go to the local Go Kart track, and there were on any night, a bunch of top guys like John Bettencourt, Wes Cooley and other serious pros. A lot of fun.

Not sure if he still does, but for many years Wayne ran 250 superkart at 'Guna and was seriously quick!

Good to know. Trolls suck.

As for karts, the only experience I have is at an indoor facility near where I live, very quick circuit but tight and twisty. Fun as hell but I'd love to get out on a real track. I'd be slow as hell but hey, it's still fun.

Do it sometime, there are plenty of places outdoor you can rent. If you love bikes you'll love it. Whereabouts in the US re you?

If you want to be a big boy in life, than you gotta make sacrifices.
!0K is an annual track day budget.
The reason why power wheel racing is so cheap, is because it's for kids.
You need to grow up, get an adult job so you can afford to race with adults.
Besides, if you were half as good as you claim, than you could get sponsorship and be able to afford to race a real series.
I think you just like to follow kids around, and bump their rear

Gee, why didn't I think of that?

Still failed to answer the question as to why YOU aren't in MotoGP btw.

I'm done, I proved your troll status, so back to being blocked you go.

Well he wanted to be critical of my track day.

I assume you are talking about little Walter, but in my case, you criticised my hobby before I returned the favour. Don't throw stones if you live in a glass house.

Awesome, have you ever done Laguna Seca? It's on my bucket list!

He and I have had our differences in the past, but he is fairly self evidently a keen long term fan of bike racing, which I would have thought is the major qualification for being on a bike racing forum.

If he scoffed at you doing track days in the past encounters to which you have referred you may have a point, but I don’t recall him doing so in advance of you denigrating him in your current incarnation.

Thanks Mike, appreciated. Always have time for you as you know.

Open wheeler car racing is prohibitively expensive everywhere as he has said and I implied. If you are not some superstar a status which I don’t think he has ever claimed but enjoy racing why not a superkart, particularly since contrary to your contentions it would seem to be a pursuit in which you can engage for many years. I have a school friend, among a group of such friends who bonded in junior high school because we were rev heads, who has found a niche in drag racing where he can be competitive and is still competing in late middle age, and more power to him I have always thought. He also has a beautiful Yamaha RD 400 he has painstakingly restored.

Exactly. I'm still racing 25 yrs later, none of the kids I started with at my club are and apart from a few who had the finance to make it to F1, very few of the kids I raced with nationally are still doing it. I know one thing for sure, I'm still enjoying it, unlike them.

Not since I joined 2yrs back until about a month back when Albert appeared. He seems to have been seriously offended in the past by members of this forum and Keshav in particular.

Hopefully things will soon settle down. If you look at all other conversations ongoing, you’ll see that they are civil and in the main, friendly.

My apologies, I kind of flared this up by taking the troll bait. I don't normally but sometimes you have to draw a line and take a stand.

May I just say that f*ck it was great to remember how to block ....................

Sorry man, my bad!

Racing for 25 years and still can't get a sponsor. You must really suck

Actually I do have multiple sponsors, but not giving a troll like you the opportunity to Google them and find out who I am.

That photo is during a shakedown test prior to my proper livery as I am a supported Tonykart driver.

Keep trying trackday boy.

Over time you start to notice the common theme with trolls is trying to shame people. Took me a while to get that. Then, it hit me, if you have nothing to be ashamed of, trolls have no way to get under your skin.

Indeed, Jealousy is also a factor.

Ask yourself this question. In your entire lifetime, do you think anyone has ever been jealous of you.
I think you know the real answer.
Maybe you didn’t notice but this is a forum about motorcycles. I don’t give .... all about cars, and certainly not go carts.
Anyone that has ever rode a motorcycle, knows that everything else pales in comparison, and barely deserves a second glance.
I missed it the first time but I see you do have a sponsor

For someone who claims not to care, you sure are making of lot of effort. Look at you! You can use Photoshop, not surprised you used Michael Jackson tbh.

This is a MotoGP forum. Neither you nor I are MotoGP riders. Personally I don't give a hoot about your 'track day' around the Rovers Return carpark, you don't see me wasting time and effort photoshopping your 'photo'.

Just too easy man.

Michael Jackson is my hero tbh.

Absolutely great tune I agree; the current Albert posted the YouTube video recently which is one thing for which I thank him.

At some point in life, every person on this wonderful planet does something of worth

Since this is from your early days, I assume you are now getting your elbows down on the tarmac? :D

Seriously though, Nice pic.

Google images search is a wonderful thing :D

Always wondered about the image sharing. Without some integrity earned, these images matter zero.

Forums are too often treated differently from chatter/banter when physically present. This unfortunately kills the quality of exchange and as a result, the possibility of forging genuine camaraderie that create the possibility of meetings at races and developed friendships.

In this particular situation it prevents the possibility of sharing images with sincerity. What a waste of time and space!

No worries mate. These losers don’t go to races. They sit in front of their computer, and pass judgment on better blokes than them

Yeah Spring Mountain is also known as Pahrump. They are a serious car track. Until my wife “asked” me to retire at 58 years old I was clipping an elbow at times. WERA West #771, WSMC #71, AMA #71 and CVMA #71. Last bike was a R1 Little easier to ride as the power delivery was a lot smoother than the GSXR
