Your New Nickname For Dovi

I know, I just felt like having a rant this morning :)

No more feeding.

What is great about this forum is that people can disagree strongly about all manner of things, but do so civilly. That is one definition of what it means to be friends. You come here to talk racing because it's a place where people are bonded by what they share in common. I learn a lot here, and while I don't really "know" anybody from face to face meetings, I find it is really a friendly place, so I have zero impulse to go to a different forum just to critique and bicker with close minded people with axes to grind. If Bertie is sticking around here it is because he has burned all his bridges on the other forums.

Okay, I'm still new here but please tell me this isn't going to devolve into another Crash.net. That place was ridiculous.

Also, racing Karts would be cool as hell. ;)

We do our level best to keep this forum from getting infected with that kind of crap. It's been bad at times, and I admit getting caught up in it. But the forum has always bounced back. Just don't feed the trolls. For the record, I love Karts. My dad raced them years ago when I was a kid. He built the frame himself and it had twin Tecumsa engines, and was seriously fast for the time. In '88 I went down to Daytona to crew for a buddy of mine who raced AMA Camel Pro in the Daytona 200. We were pitted right next to Mike Baldwin a fellow AAMRR racer. At night to blow off steam we would go to the local Go Kart track, and there were on any night, a bunch of top guys like John Bettencourt, Wes Cooley and other serious pros. A lot of fun.

Good to know. Trolls suck.

As for karts, the only experience I have is at an indoor facility near where I live, very quick circuit but tight and twisty. Fun as hell but I'd love to get out on a real track. I'd be slow as hell but hey, it's still fun.

My nieces both race carts and my brother (RIP) built and maintained them for them. Youngest has over a hundred 1st place trophies. Older girl discovered boys so she doesn’t race much anymore. They had fun though. They couldn’t understand how I could race on only two wheels until they came to the track (Willow Springs) and watched

No it isn't which is why it does not merit a reply from the poster concerned.

Maybe he just likes racing carts and is good at it. I can't see that it is an activity that deserves scorn from somebody with a claim to fame of participating in track days. What manner of car do you suggest that he should race and who is going to pay for same ?.

Depends on your region. Here in the UK, the natural progression would probably be an open wheel class.
If he's a yank, than there are more options, open wheel, stock car, midgets.
If he's an Aussie, than he could graduate from riding his sister, to his mum.

Don't have a problem? You proceeded to call me a ......... you utter .....

Seeing as you clearly don't know how the racing world works, go and look at what a season of kart racing costs you, then go and look at what a season of the slowest single seater racing cars cost you. I do a season of racing for under $10000, it's a minimum of $100,000 for single seater feeder series, often for cars that a seconds a lap slower on road courses than the superkarts I race. Give me $100,000 and I'll go and race cars so you can then go and watch 'little boys' racing at your local kart track.

I understand morons like you go to your local Alton Towers and think the 15mph speed limited go karts there are the pinnacle of karting, but they are not. Ayrton Senna stated his greatest rival ever was an adult kart racer, multiple world champion Terry Fullterton.

As for your pathetic 'everyone else' statement. I know hundreds of adults who race karts. Why don't you progress to MotoGP like every other bike rider, instead of pissing around like a wannabe at a track day? Whether you like it or not it's a legitimate question.

Finally, what old poster are you? I have a good idea.

If you want to be a big boy in life, than you gotta make sacrifices.
!0K is an annual track day budget.
The reason why power wheel racing is so cheap, is because it's for kids.
You need to grow up, get an adult job so you can afford to race with adults.
Besides, if you were half as good as you claim, than you could get sponsorship and be able to afford to race a real series.
I think you just like to follow kids around, and bump their rear

Bla Bla Bla old man Keshav. I know you're old because you still think forums are a thing.
You have no friends. Your little list proved that.

Did they happen to race a car, with an adult in it, with the number 22?

Don't believe a word Keshav says. He's the forum troll. As soon as he disagrees with you he will attempt to run you off. He also has an alias called Little Walter. He's absolutely full of ..... with his tall tales.
The truth of his life is he spends all day on this forum and thinks these anonymous people are his friends

Mate, there's no percentage in explaining that which is obvious to everyone on this forum - to a troll. He just gets his jollies making you justify .... that nobody here thinks needs justifying. Personally I don't think he's an old member under a new avatar. All his insults miss the mark by a mile. The old trolls generally knew enough about the members to find something to get under their skin. This clueless .... gets absolutely nothing right. It's all weak tea. If he seems familiar, it's because all trolls are so generically alike, all from pretty much the same pissant, cookie-cutter, juvenile mind-set.

Where are the pictures of your make believe bikes Keshav Walter?

I am coming around to that view as well, I don’t think many previous members, whatever their differences with you, would have tried to bait you in regard to you never having ridden a track day (a bait you refused to take) and my leading/usual suspect was American, while Albert seems to be as British as Coronation Street.

Well he wanted to be critical of my track day. Do you not think he should prove his bonafides, if he's going to be critical of others. Did you not read that thread?
He didn't know basic information about track bikes.
He doesn't know the difference between a black and a red flag.
I'm not saying Im any level of proficiency, but don't you find it odd, that Im the only one on here showing personal pictures?

He and I have had our differences in the past, but he is fairly self evidently a keen long term fan of bike racing, which I would have thought is the major qualification for being on a bike racing forum.

If he scoffed at you doing track days in the past encounters to which you have referred you may have a point, but I don’t recall him doing so in advance of you denigrating him in your current incarnation.

Open wheeler car racing is prohibitively expensive everywhere as he has said and I implied. If you are not some superstar a status which I don’t think he has ever claimed but enjoy racing why not a superkart, particularly since contrary to your contentions it would seem to be a pursuit in which you can engage for many years. I have a school friend, among a group of such friends who bonded in junior high school because we were rev heads, who has found a niche in drag racing where he can be competitive and is still competing in late middle age, and more power to him I have always thought. He also has a beautiful Yamaha RD 400 he has painstakingly restored.

Not since I joined 2yrs back until about a month back when Albert appeared. He seems to have been seriously offended in the past by members of this forum and Keshav in particular.

Hopefully things will soon settle down. If you look at all other conversations ongoing, you’ll see that they are civil and in the main, friendly.
