It will be the same deal as when MotoGP switched to 990cc four strokes. Honda had begun work on theirs while discussions about the switch were taking place. Honda always influences situations like rule changes depending on what they've been working on. So in that sense I will say Yamaha and the others will be a step below Honda just as they were in 2002. However, I think that was a wake up call to the other factories as to how much time and development it takes to make one of these things competitive and in that regard I think they will be a step closer to Honda than they were in 2002. I don't know if that makes any sense but it all works out ok in my head.

Yeah it makes sense.

Honda will always be one step ahead because they've got the $$$

But all the teams have had experience bringing together a new machine now so i dont think it will be such a learning curve for them as it was in 2002.

the thing with honda they can use knowledge from F1 and any other racing they are involved with and they do have <span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:100%big $ to throw at any developement but if rossi is still sat on his yamaha i think he will really pee the HRC riders offf because he wont make it easy for them
