so this is gonna be the first season i'll be watching WSBK and i don't know much of it , how this superpole thing goes?

A Bit like what F1 Does now if you seen that

1st session-Top 20 riders from Saturday Qualifying will ride in a 12 minute session.

2nd session-The top 16 riders from the preceding session will ride for another 12 minute session

3rd session -The top 8 riders from the preceding session will ride for another 12 minutes

-Rows 1 & 2 of the grid will be based on the placement of the 8 riders in the 3rd session
-Rows 3 and 4 will be based on the placement of the 8 slower riders from the 2nd session
-Row 5 will be based on the placement of the 4 slowest riders from the 1st session
-Remaining rows will be based on placement from the Saturday qualifying session's riders who did not make superpole.

Best qualifying system out there. Watch and learn once you know the rules watch and enjoy. It forces the riders to be on their game each round. Compared with gp where you work on setup for 45 minutes then do your best lap in the last 5 minutes.

thanks pigeon that was clarifying

yeah this is best qualifying system but i think i won't work well in gp ,i guess they need more time to sort things out cause the bikes setup is more complex , but as i say before i do not know much of wsbk so i may be wrong and the superbikes are as complex as the gp bikes

ps. im rooting for leon he seems like a humble and cool guy plus he rode very well in PI ,and i love gixxxers , was that a bad choice?
<
if so i guess i'll root for him anyway

Jakub Smrz (Pata B&G Racing Ducati) and Max Biaggi (Aprilia Alitalia) both set a best lap time in final qualifying of 1'43.003 to share the top spot going into Superpole, with Michel Fabrizio (Ducati Xerox), Leon Haslam (Alstare Suzuki) and Jonathan Rea (Hannspree Ten Kate Honda) all setting laps within the 1'43.0 range, five riders covered by only 0.050 seconds!

Dont forget the best part, you only get 2 sets of Q's for the 3 sessions. That really turns into a chess match

What did they do? Any idea why they didn't run S pole 2?

That is bizarre to say the least, did they both go down in Sp1. And wth is up with Toseland?

Anyone have the answer as to what happened.

Well done Cal
nope i not watched it
it does seem strange maybe the team just fooked up
both going down or getting blocked seems odd

I think Toesland crashed before getting a quick time in. Not sure what's up with Xerox.

Where did Crutchlow come from? The pack of Biaggi, Fabrizio, Rea and Haslam was half a second up on everybody this morning and suddenly Crutchlow is half a second up on those guys. I wonder what sort of race pace he has.

To be honest, I thought Toseland would be stronger here. Disappointing.

Xerox must have run a piss poor time on race tires in the first session and got caught out.

More surprising to me is Toseland. He's completely ruined his weekend by qualifying in 15th, but Crutchlow has taken pole out of nowhere. Very strange times for the Yamaha squad.
