This is it, the culmination of a long hard fought season between two men. The veteran Haga, always so close, but never a championship. The rookie Spies, an impressive first year in the series with a late season comeback. Haga has the obvious advantages on his side. 10 points lead over Spies, race knowledge of the track, and riding the Ducati (last years double winner). Spies doesn't have anything to prove, he has already exceeded expectations of him, but his desire to win has always been strong. Only the double will secure it for him. He needs to pick up the pole and get two great starts. Whatever the outcome, it's going to be a great weekend for racing.

Bring on the races!

Excellent post Boots - I almost don't want it to arrive so that I can draw out and savour the anticipation. This could well be as epic as '02.

Kropotkin says that Nakano is back for Portimao and Aprilia will field three bikes to accommodate Leon Camier. Also says that Shakey is still being linked with Aprilia for 2010 as is Alex De Angelis.

What about Biaggi?

I'm so tempted to put the "CLosed for Inventory" sign up this Sunday, That is if I can get a feed off the net.

I hope Spies pulls it off, I just hope it is not a walk in the park for Ben.

Not me, Spies should have had this title weeks ago. But if Haga gets it, I will stubbornly accept it.

Go Spies

As far as I know, Biaggi is signed for 2010. Sounds like they're auditioning Camier incase De Angelis signs for Scot Honda.

Walk in the park? Not a chance. Haga's gonna use every trick in the book -
tooth-and-nail and all that. How many more chances will he get at
winning the championship? After a season of racing the young Mr. Spies
you know Haga's not overconfident and the implications of that are
manifold. As for Spies... the man is cool under pressure. Reminds me
of Clay vs Liston.

Let us all pray for no 1st turn/turns disasters from the wild cards. Lets race.

Spies will be my pick and if Haga wins it's still all good he deserves it. I wouldn't bet on this one even if I won the lottery.
