A curious comment. Who are you talking about here? I suppose... Lorenzo? Anyone else? In other sports, these types abound, but in the GP paddock not so much; at least, that's my impression.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Tom @ Feb 19 2008, 11:37 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Estoril! Even though it was a long time ago, and a very rare mistake from one of the most controlled riders on the circuit, people wont get over it, ever.
.... yeah! Imagine... if Rossi hadn't dropped it at Valencia how much worse it would be. Pedrosa might not have survived the 2007 GP at Laguna Seca...

But that's people, I guess. I'm sure, somehwere out there are rabid Schwantz fans whose loathing of Doohan still knows no bounds.

The two most obvious candidates are Rossi and Biaggi. Lorenzo of course, Gibernau and Hopkins also deserve a mention.

I see where you're coming from. I guess I was just thinking that the 'riders' you were talking about were only motivated by a desire to become famous, etc. On Hopkins: I thought he was a $whore not a media-whore...

I'm not suggesting that these riders are motivated just by fame, they obviously all love their racing and are very commited to it. However they are riders who are clearly very concious of what people think of them, and very much want to be as famous and popular as possible. It gives fans characters that they can watch and enjoy with off and on track drama but also makes the guys who keep to themselfes and don't care about fame seem "boring"

"You meet the nicest people on a Honda" was the quote you are looking for. I do not own a Honda, and do not use Honda products. With one exception, I only use Honda brand condoms, Nothing lasts as long, my one Honda brand condom has lasted for over 250,000 miles and counting. It is also low maintenance as well, all i do is change the oil and wash it once a week.

Finally a representative from Honda sticks up for Hayden. Took those fuckers long enough. Maybe there is talk from the Hayden camp about leaving.

Hayden must get tired of all the reporters nagging his ... about Pedrosa. And its equally sad that all Hayden wants to do is talk about racing and leave politics and personality out of it where that is very much a part of racing.

This is very surprising, but I guess pedrosa did just about hold them to ransom over his new contract, and he has criticised honda publically which honda historically are not amused by and which nicky never does.

Dani's at it again

Is he robbing Hayden's clothing from '06 or repeating that the number 2 on his bike is just one step away from WC....

BTW, it's not photochop - here's the link

Next in line??????? I think not. Wearing it doesn't make it so.

No wearing does not ........ but coming second in 07 did.

coming second in 2007 means that he is second, not 1st, as implied by the big #1 on the back of his head...

strewth, its simple really, he hasnt earned a #1 in the premier class just yet so putting one on his hat is a little presumtuous and arrogant.

<span style="font-size:8pt;line-height:100%unles its a pedro joke, but given his record of humourlessness, i doubt it

There was a run of posts there ..... if you read back it may make sense.
